The first slurp reveals more of the same, hot, mid-day sun, hiking trail wild licorice, dried essence of orange rinds, sweet cherries, and tobacco. The finish is long and lasting. Deutz 'William Deutz' 1999, Ay, since 1983 in the hands of Louis Roederer, slight different philosophy, all wines undergo malolactic fermentation, which explains their rich and expansive texture.
