A slightly shiny plasticy note in the nose that fades. Beneath it, gorgeous plummy fruit. Pure and intense.

Pulled the cork and the juice smelled and tasted DELI$H ~ I’ve had many great wines, plenty I’ve rated higher, but the pull-n-pour instant gratification AND appropriate drinking time doesn’t happen often ~ it will age effortlessly for years but I’m not sure one “needs” to cellar more

Great clarity to the nose with dark berrries and a hint of plum on the nose. Really pure, balanced and translucent. Very good

I was lucky to find another ‘01 (90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano). The 2001 growing season was excellent, good “skin to pulp” ratio. Intense deep ruby red, aromas of berries and cherries, still fresh with spices, and tobacco, slightly earthy tones, typical Rioja. Soft & silky smooth, layers of flavors, dark fruit, vanilla spice, tobacco and slightly floral, very well balanced, supple tannins, mineral notes, a clean structure, and ending with a nice lingering finish. Should last well beyond 2020. Yum!!!

Oak and ruby currants in the nose. Slightly browning at the edges. Lovely deep, soft plush fruit. Menthol, some vanilla notes and resolved oak. Yum
