OMG!! Such an amazing wine, opens up very very well! Opens up very luscious and full of bold fruit. Tons of plum, and raspberry, with great undertones of cherry, and vanilla. Nice dark current, dark tobacco leaves, with harsh tannins. Finished like silk. — 11 years ago

A study in vintage variation...a perfectly stored bottle that showed well...for a mature wine geek, this was lovely. Medium concentration, smooth as silk, beautiful aged claret nose of leather and menthol. Lasted for about 2 hours. — 9 years ago

I don't understand Caymus-haters. Sure, the setting didn't hurt, but with a half-hr decant the nose was rich cassis, vanilla. Showing a little age, the dark red fruit, tobacco and oaky-rich tannins were smooth as silk. Ready but could go for 5-10 years.
