Drinking well now with a short decant but still young. Floral aromas that are very inviting. Cherry, strawberry, rose petals, and tar on the palate. Broke this out to enjoy since my 2 yr old son fed our 25 lb dog about 16oz of filet mignon and now I can say this paired well with McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries. — 8 years ago
Inky purple with hazy blue tone on the rim. Nose of dark sweet fruit, a bit dark chocolate, alcohol, spice like black pepper, but all modest. Taste of powerful tannins, sweet cherry note with hidden round acidity, and some bitter chocolate notes. Aftertaste is dominant bittersweet zest, a bit oaky. Aftertaste is a bit short and not too much layered. — 9 years ago
When on an island....
Medium gold in color. The nose has an intense floral bouquet that reminds me a lot of Muscat, with dried white flowers and pink grapefruit citrus aromas. The palate adds peach and a saltiness that stains the palate in saline and lifts the medium body texture that seems more endowed but must be from some skin contact during fermentation. The finish is fresh but a little short. — 10 years ago

Cork very soft, decanted 1 hour, beautiful dark cherry juice while decanting near light. Fruit nose, initial as smooth, tasty mild cab wine. Mid a little more earth and mineral. End tannins very short. No long aftertaste. Join when swallowed. Liked wine @ 90 — 11 years ago
The usually tight tannic punch has faded and melded with the usual Washington velvet, a dark abyss of blackberry, plum, black cherry, it's in a nice place, I honestly wanted the kick in the mouth, but it's more elegant than you would expect. And I'm okay with buying her dinner, cause she delivers! She wore the long dress, thought I'd be looking at a short skirt, but this long dress is taking me home, thanks! She got feisty after she opened up & she delivers impressed! Give it 1hr and she will sing in your ear! — 11 years ago
My wife and I had the 2011 after recommendation from her brother who is well versed on wines. This was a great wine with veal that we prepared at home. We had the pleasure of eating lunch at the family's restaurant in Vienna a few months ago and enjoyed the experience and personnel immensely. This is an intense wine but very smooth with plum, black cherry and other complex fruity flavors. In short a great Tuscan wine. We were able to get this for just under $90 at our local Total Wine store. We are waiting to enjoy the bottles of the 2012 that are in the wine cabinet. — 8 years ago
I was so excited to open this 2006 Leoville Barton. The color was ruby red and dark crimson. Almost black. It opened very hot with just a short decant. The nose showed amazing cherry, raspberry, cocoa and coffee notes. On the palate the tannins are very evident. There are obvious dark berries and even some earthy vegetables and tobacco. Over the course of 2hrs it really came into its own and showed its meddle. This is a great wine and, in my opinion, a great value. While a bit young, this wine a still great now and will be amazing in 10 yrs. — 9 years ago
What a smooth vino. Paired very well with a wide range of Italian food (crostini, kale salad, pasta, braised short ribs) My only regret is that we only had one bottle. Great for celebrations. One of the smoothest wines I've ever tasted. — 11 years ago
A full bodied wine with a rich taste and fragrant aroma. — 11 years ago
Might have been too young to drink. No decanter. Just opened the bottle for 30 min. Took a little bit of time in glass to finish it's bloom. Great taste but short of my expectations for a grand cru — 8 years ago
Kept surprisingly well, sweet, molasses and deep leathery, spicy flavors. Pretty short finish. — 9 years ago

Juicy. Plump and juicy. Delicious fruit nose and palate. Some spicy vanilla and pepper to round things out. Yummy. — 11 years ago
Excellent Bordeaux but a bit short in the finish. Need to drink my other bottle. Cost $16.99 — 11 years ago
