1986 vintage in 2014. It's the 13th vintage made since 1917. 252 months in American oak barrels and 67 months on concrete tanks. Amazing taste! — 9 years ago
67% Cab 30% Merlot and rest PV. Bad economic year and was hard to sell despite great vintage. Creamy right away when you open it with tint of spiciness. Christophe took over the winery in 2005 so this is one of their earlier vintages and only made 70k bottles — 9 years ago
Very nice wine, sorry I only have 1 bottle left. Delectable its 67% Grenache & 33% Syrah — 10 years ago

A thick and chewy wine on the tongue with ripe round tannins very balanced a bigger wine than the feather but just as nuanced. Finish 45+. Excellent+ — 11 years ago
Wonderful creamy vanilla! Just love it! — 12 years ago
One of the best Amarone of the year. $67 / 94pts — 12 years ago
The nose is nice and floral, combined with barrel toast and rich dark fruits.
On the palette, the wine has grip and texture. The merlot contributes edginess, while the cab franc delivers a delicate sweet note. Acidity is superb. Tannins are still a touch green. Pump your brakes on this and let it rest for a few more years, depending on your favorite Bdx style.
14.5% abv. Approx. 67% merlot and 33% cab franc. — 9 years ago
This is a 61 and albeit not great in Sauternes that year this wine was in perfect balance of fruits, acids with lengthy backbone. Not as intense as 67 or 59 of course but beautifully elegant. Color as dark golden with touch of hazelnut brown. Neck fill. Perfect cork. — 9 years ago
Piroutte | 2012 | Philippe Melka | Agustin Huneeus
"Beautiful aromas of roasted coffee beans, wild cherries, black licorice, toasty wood, hint of cocoa and vanilla. On the palate, powerful yet elegant bodied, infused with spice, black fruits, firm tannins, long, spicy finish."
