GL tasting Pape Clement 10/18/17. Means tall oak tree. 60 Merlot 40 cab. Three vintages. '15 Nose of black berries and palette that's straightforward with some earthiness and medium finish. 8.8. 2010 nose that's black fruit and body with hints of wood and good structure. 8.9. 2005 nose that's complex with that autumnal secondary notes of age and good structure on palate and long finish. Rewards of aging. 9.0. Roland consulting previously but more moving away from me oak. — 8 years ago
On the lighter side, but strong and VERY very smooth. Almost no aftertaste at all — 8 years ago
Still standing tall. 30 minutes of air and this blossoms. A little spicy and tart initially but the fruit comes on late in the game with a marvelous citrus finish. This could hold for another 3-5 years but it is great right now. Drink it if you find it. — 9 years ago
In Antarctica on Seaborn Quest. With Lorraine and Steve. We loved it. — 10 years ago
12.00 for a tall boy, good deal — 10 years ago

#2005 #LaGeynale #Cornas #RobertMichel My favorite grape, #Syrah from my favorite region, #NorthernRhone ❤️ The Deep, dark purple/red color seduces you before your lips even touch the glass. "You had me at Hello..." (is what I may have said out loud actually) 😊. This wine is like a tall, sexy, brooding man with all the right moves😗😘. Once you taste it there's really no turning back... Savory, lightly spicy, rustic yet refined at the same time... This is a very unique and gorgeous bottle of wine. Unlike any other Cornas I have tried. Touch of funk dancing gracefully with the big tannins and perfectly round dark fruit... Such a smooth ride. I feel sorry for any other wine trying to win you over on the same night as him... & he will only get better with age👌😉 #Betony restaurant #ThirstyThursday #HappyGirl #Cheers 🍴🍷 — 11 years ago
2011 Binyamina Yogev Samson Red Wine Blend. 50% Cabernet 50% Merlot. Dark cherries, plums and raisins with vanilla and licorice. Soft tannins. Slightly sweet mid-palate. I would place this as a Bordeaux every time. — 11 years ago
Slightly bubble; well-balanced — 13 years ago
Tall grass. Smooth, creamy, not too sweet would buy again — 7 years ago
A brilliant Sangiovese blend. Loving this example/vintage. Black cherries, spice box and coffee stand tall. Showing perfectly now, but could put on weight over time. Excellent. — 8 years ago
Supercampano!? Cherries, rain, earth, a basketful of sun-warmed herbs. 2006 vintage but still very primary. This wine is seven feet tall and full of muscles. Where's the fat slow-roasted beef? De Conciliis never ceases to amaze. — 8 years ago
I can't stop drinking this... This might be a good problem... Dark red ruby in color with a medium-plus intensity. The nose is filled with dark bing cherries, fresh cranberries, wet violets, wild mushrooms, moss, forest floor, smoked wood, and wet rocks. The palate was fleshy, mysterious and refined. Mushrooms and a perfect dose of acidity and chewy tannic structure made the finish irresistible. It's balance competes and stands tall with any of the great Burgundy producers. It's truly astonishing how this 12.5% Gamay is so complex. This bottle is hard to put down. Cheers to a perfect Friday night! — 9 years ago
Enjoying a Valentine's Day dinner and a great wine! This super Tuscan will stand tall amongst the most expensive wines out there. So smooth and great balance. This is one of our favorites. — 10 years ago
Very easy to drink. Light body. — 10 years ago
Oak spice and soft tannins. — 10 years ago
Pleasant, refreshing, great with truffle cheese. Bottle is very tall. Buy again. — 11 years ago
Excellent, picked this up on the recommendation of a person pouring wine at the store. Excellent body strong flavor best with a steak or very hearty meal — 12 years ago
Only back home for three days since our grand excursion, oh Burgundy how I miss you and your beautiful landscapes with tiny villages.
(I don't miss how tall my damn grass grew in the lawn during our absence!)
Flinty nose with beautiful white flowers.
Flint, minerals, lime-honey on the palate, acidity is noticable but not distracting. Finish is like forever. We will attempt to restrain ourselves from drinking this whole bottle this evening, as based on recent Saint Aubin tastings, this will continue to evolve with air and patience. I feel this bottle is still young, many years ahead for enjoyment.
Thanks @David T for turning me towards Lamy... I'll be back for more!
24hr Update: So creamy, beautiful Chardonnay fruit, yellow apple, faint flinty notes today, acidy is still noticable, and enjoyable. I'm not sure I like it more or less than the initial approach, it's a different, also great, wine today. — 7 years ago

Nice and dry but still a taste. A dry cab but good ( first to rate it 😉) — 8 years ago
It says it is not strictly dry, but I think this allows the raging funk to shine bright and stand tall. — 9 years ago
Races out seconds after corking, however give it a few minutes to breath and you'll be drifting through a smooth & mellow field of tall grass — 10 years ago
Is it really Brunello? Sangiovese does stand tall in this wine so who cares..... Good acidity, firm but with soft edges. Nicely structured wine and good to drink now. — 10 years ago
Love this blend; great red to enjoy even without food. — 11 years ago
Decanted for 2 hours. VHR rewards you for the wait. Color is light suggesting a simple body. Body is tall and complex. I savored every drop. A treat. — 11 years ago
Medium bodied, dry, hints of spice , hints of tannins — 11 years ago
The winery is the equivalent of 18 stories tall. Underground, in a mountain. — 13 years ago
Kelli
Tall grass. Mellow with good spice. Good with dark chocolate. Maybe a little leathery with notable tannins. A bolder merlot. Would buy again. — 7 years ago
