Body medium +, Brett, menthol, pepper, strawberry, cherry, earthy, oak. A bit "hot". Bottle is atypical. You can't see content. Great with beef deli. Grown at high altitude. 13.5deg. A very pleasant surprise! Don't buy a bottle by its label. — 11 years ago
Lots of brett for one hour. Then super depth with lots of graphite. Still a lot of fruit. — 11 years ago
The peaches are so intense on the nose and palate. Great, great stuff! — 10 years ago
1984 Opus slightly browning but very good ruby. Opening up nose of cedar cassis Tabacco slight vanilla. Taste is definitely showing some age but expressing power of Napa. Med acid med + body. Tannins mature long finish! Very balanced!! A touch of Brett but only enough to give level of character! — 10 years ago
First time I see anything from them in Boston.A decent Saison, with raisins and faint cloves overtones on top of hay and grass. I hope the rest of their stuff is significantly better — 10 years ago
Another terrific beer from Jolly Pumpkin. Definitely improves with some time in the glass; much better on tap at the brewpub in Ann Arbor. Doesn't have the depth of the La Roja (which is by far my favorite JP), but still a great beer. — 11 years ago
Way too young now but destined for greatness. Chris Howell knows how to showcase what the mountain gives him. This wine, with its hints of well integrated Brett, is not only distinctive for Napa, but stands out against others from the mountain AVAs. Cellar for a long time! — 10 years ago
