This has softened considerably since my last bottle several years ago. Nose is complex, with earth, cedar, cigar box, and an incense-like note. In the mouth, it’s rich but medium-bodied. The tannins that were so prominent a few years ago have significantly resolved. Entering (finally) its drinking window. — 5 months ago
13.5% Mondavi reserve from 1997. What a lot of fun to try. Not sure what kinda year this was in Napa, but this is delicious. Perfect pairing with prime steaks on the grill - tons of dark red fruit with great refinement and acid on the finish. Really excellent. — 9 months ago
Beautiful wine, but for its value it’ll leave you wanting. While I love the vintage for the Domaine as I believe it provides a good balance to the style, this bottle was a bit thin on the palate. I wonder if decanting would have helped it gain some weight. — 2 months ago

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of red fruits with earth, herbs and chocolate notes.
Dry and fruit forward on the palate with raspberries, cherries, peppercorn, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, light cedar, tobacco leaf and herbs.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Mourvedre from Bandol. Elegant and nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Drinking beautifully now, although still young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Complex and delicious right now. Good by itself or with food.
A blend of 90% Mourvedre and 10% Grenache. Aged for 22 months in large French oak barrels.

Small production. RSV has under 200 acres of vineyards in 5 Carneros locations & a winery in the Stags Leap District. The wines are 100% organic. Ruby with berry, cherry & spice aromas. On the palate flavors of wild strawberry & cherry with complex spice, citrus, oak and balanced acidity. Fine soft tannins, good balance, long finish with an earthy characteristic ending with notes of vanilla spice. Nice! — 5 months ago
