Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2016

From one of the relatively unknown and elite producers in Burgundy and a close friend of the illustrious Jean François Coche’s son, Raphael. Even this Bourgogne Blanc comes from old vines in Meursault which clearly evident in the wine. Vibrant energy and acidity intertwines with lemon curd, hazelnuts, a pixelated minerality and a striking intensity. Maybe lacking the depth and length of premier cru burgs, but what a tremendous entry level Bourgogne this is and a true over performer. — 5 years ago

Il Molino di Grace

Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2013

Yes, back on that 🇮🇹 game. Ripe cherries give way to leather, pepper, and a spicy finish. Yet another great wine from the country that gave us Alighieri, Raphael, and Pirlo. 👌 — 8 years ago

Savigny-lès-Beaune Pinot Noir 2012

Courtesy of The Winery 116th street Harlem NYC. Terrific Savigny aromatics, plush mouthfeel and lively balance of tannins and acidity. Slow ox for a few hours and opened up even more in the glass. Another year or two and this will sing 🎶 — 8 years ago

Montagne Millésime Grand Terroirs de la Montagne de la Reims Blanc De Blancs Champagne 2004

Excellent Champagne from Bereche. A bit amber in the glass, yeast and soft bubbles with excellent acid. A bit more full bodied than your normal Blanc de Blanc. Very nice. — 8 years ago

Partout Ratapoil Trousseau Blend 2014

This is near perfection. It comes with a sharp and unresistable tartness along w/ bright acidity, outstanding purity and low alcohol (11,5%).

Côte Millésime 1er Cru Champagne Blend 2008

Such great value! While I feel doesn't have the Bereche typicity, it's so elegant and poised. Fruiter, more powerful, less mineral, but bolstered by racy acidity.

I think Vinous nails my tasting notes, so I'm just gonna leave that here:

"The 2008 Côte Premier Cru, a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir from Vertus, is striking. Translucent and expressive, the 2008 captures a gorgeous, crystalline expression of Vertus Chardonnay, with a little added body and texture from the Pinot. Sweet floral and honeyed notes wrap around the expressive, precise finish. There is a lot to like here. Dosage is 6 grams/liter."
