Love it to death! Hoppy and tastes pretty much like Little Creature’s Pale Ale except it’s tons cheaper here where I live. — 5 years ago
Very pleasant. Not strong enough to drink with highly spicy foods. Fruity, virtually no tannins. — 6 years ago

The 14 Almaviva Cabernet is 68% Cabernet, 22% Carménère and 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The vines are 38 years of age. The wine spent 18 months in 75% new oak. The nose shows some slight funk at first. Blackberries, dark cherries, poached strawberries, black cherry cola/licorice and dark florals. The M+ tannins are soft and a little sticky. The fruits are slightly candied in style. Blackberries, black raspberries, dark chocolate, soft leather, crushed rocks, dark moist turned earth and dark fresh florals. The structure, length, tension, balance and finish are quiet beautiful. Producer history and notes...Almaviva began in 1997, as a joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro. With the strengths of both families pedigree, they achieved international recognition with the the launch of their very first vintage. Their goal was to create the equivalent of Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé in Chile. Patrick Leon is their Winemaker and also makes Opus One & Mouton Rothschild. Almaviva is located in the Maipo Valley in Chile's central zone. Puente Alto has ideal conditions for growing the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. Almaviva has 85 hectares. The climatic features of Puente Alto include its; stony soil, cold, rainy winters, and the hot days and cool nights of its summers. Maipo is considered Chile’s Napa Valley.

Creamy and bone dry, hinting at sweetness but finishing bitter, saline .
The nose isn’t huge but the palate is.
Delish.

Tim’s Wine Market. $68. Marc de Grazia night. — 5 years ago
A blend of 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay, this Champagne exudes a overbearing presence with intense smokey notes followed by raspberries, cherries, grapefruit, anise, and chalk dust. A mid to full bodied Champagne with intense fizziness, tart red fruit flavors intermixing with honey on entry. A balanced midpalate with refreshing acidity, citrus peel, and steely mineral notes that linger on the palate for quite some time. — 6 years ago

It is Friday night and during this time of being shut in our home a group of us had a Zoom chat to try and help in keep some assemblance of normalcy with socialization through Zoom chat. During our gathering I opened the 2016 Pirouette Long Shadows Vintners Bordeaux Blend. A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec. A wine from Walla Walla, Washington produced by renowned winemaker Philippe Melka. A beautifully blended wine that will stand the test of time and only get better.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, red currant, vanilla, baking spice, cigar box and rich soil.
On the palate ther is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, red currant, green bell pepper, creamy chocolate, graphite and crushed rock.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, medium + acidity and medium + smooth rounded tannins that lead into a long black fruit finish. What a wonderful wine that all would enjoy. I just wish on our video chat I would have been able to share this with my friends. Maybe some day when we come through this. Please everyone stay healthy and safe. We will come through this. Last bottle of the vintage. Purple red, medium extracted, excellent clarity. Strawberry, cassis and mint notes in nose. Same flavors (plus blackberry and cherry) with depth, rounded mouthfeel, somewhat thin body, some skin astringency and lactic acid on finish. Flavors are well integrated, tasting nicely now. 68/32 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre.
Washington state - the new epicenter of wine. You heard it here first — 6 years ago
The label says “hops, hops and more hops” I say yes to the hops but with a smooth blending of malts. Crisp, clean, intense aroma with a well balanced long satisfying taste this award winning IPA is the brewmaster’s choice. I say it’s just damn good. I believe that it is available on the USA Pacific coast. 6.5 % alc./vol. 80 IBU Cheers 🍻🇨🇦 — 6 years ago

Second time trying a wine from Wiston Estate in Sussex, and a wholly different experience to boot. This vintage (2014) rosé comfortably stands shoulder-to-shoulder with any of the pink Champagne I’ve had in recent years, and is the most memorable sparkling rosé I’ve tasted since Krug NV some years ago.
The wine’s aromas are dominated by the Pinot Noir that comprises 68% of the cuvée, with dried cherry, rose petal and cranberry, as well as a touch of earthiness. The palate is generous, savoury but with beautifully ripe fruit, medium bodied with mouthwatering acidity and a long, sumptuous finish.
This really is impressive stuff and I encourage anyone new to English sparkling to seek out this splendid wine. — 3 years ago
