2015 is coming along, deep plum color bold aroma with a hint of spice — 7 years ago
Nice to taste a bottle before it was famous. — 7 years ago
Touch of EA, touch of reduction, touch of fruit, pretty pleasant. Have 3 of these, wanted to check in. No oxidation, no tired qualities, not falling apart in the glass, nice wine 12 years later. They were selling these in the tasting room a few years ago for like $40/bottle, can't really beat it. — 8 years ago

2014 Napa cabs are in a sweet spot for the “fruit forward” stage of wines without ripping the enamel off your teeth. TRB is a favorite winemaker of mine for his ability to pull the entire fruit spectrum (red, blue, black), when applicable, which is evident here.
This is a pop and pour for the big fruit loving Napa enthusiasts (which I can enjoy ever so often). It is uber ripe and high toned...not quite sporting levels of EA, but close. With this being Calistoga fruit, it undoubtedly shows that warm profile. There is a kiss of red fruit initially on the nose before it is dominated by freshly squeezed blackberries, creme de cassis, dark chocolate, mocha and dark mixed berry pie. It begins on the palate somewhat lighter than expected before picking up steam and really gaining heft/density on the mid palate. Just oozes fresh and ripe dark fruits, fondue dipped fruits, plenty of baking spices like vanilla and nutmeg, and a sweet finish that sails on for a good while. Completely smooth and soft tannin. Not failing off a cliff for a while, but this style has me thinking earlier consumption is best. — 4 years ago

The 2015 quality producer reds out of; Puente Alto, Maipo, Pirque and Aconcagua are strong considerations for your cellar or temp & humidity control cabinets. The fruit is sensational and the acidity is beautiful.
The nose is ripe, ruby floral and show slightly candied fruits of; blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, black raspberries. Some creamy raspberries, black cherry licorice/cola, dark semi-sweet soil, nice baking spices, cedar and fresh red & dark florals.
The body is gorgeous and full. The tannins are rounded, firm and gluey. The fruits are ripe, slightly candied and fresh. blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, some creamy raspberries, strawberries, black cherry licorice/cola, dark, nice herbal notes, semi-sweet dark soil, dry loamy top soils, dry stems, chewy leather, lighter baking spices than the nose, cedar and fresh red & dark florals.

Tobacco and chocolate, red fruit, so good, one of the best wines I've had. — 8 years ago
Nose of lemon, lime, honeycomb, and sea breeze. Very dry and high acid on the palate. Lots of citrus, minerals, and a touch of honeycomb on the finish. Mayb ea touch of yellow apple as well. Crisp, clean, and tasty. — 5 years ago
This was a tremendously surprising wine in the richness of flavor. My boyfriend and I loved the depth of taste. — 5 years ago

Needed a wine worthy to celebrate a special event, a 37 year old wine! Blend, 75% Tempranillo-15% Garnacho-5% ea/Mazuelo/Graciano, aged 10 Years in Am oak! The ‘80 was sealed with wax, preserving the wine, it worked, the cork crumbled on extraction! Very light Ruby, enticing, complex aromas of juicy red fruit, earthy spices & smoke. Cherry flavors with espresso spice, vanilla, smoky oak, earthy leather & black pepper. Well balanced with very soft tannins, long delicate finish with earthy spice. A rare treat to enjoy a mature Rioja, something really special! — 8 years ago
Adriana Fabbro
Pretty wine with “lifted acidity” (aka VA /EA / hint of nail polish). The wine relaxed and became more expressive with roses (fresh and dried) fruit (cherry, raspberry, red currant, pomegranate) as the meal and conversation wore on. Tannins are fine-grained and well integrated, but very much present, making the wine a little aloof and muted at first. Give it time to unwind and reach a happy place. — 4 years ago
