9-Liter! So powerful, it’s fresh, slight apple caramel tart with a touch of cinnamon. Pear (just ripe) brioche. Beautiful structure, so long, palate just stunning. Exceptional, — 6 months ago
What a beautiful expression of Chardonnay in the glass. Both subtle and interesting on the nose, richness of color, and a perfectly balanced wine. And while the wine had a strong mineral foundation it was much more engaging than just a single note. So glad my cellar has several more bottles to enjoy in the years ahead. — 10 months ago
The 2nd GC White Burgundy of the day. Nose not giving much - a little closed and sadly the wine a bit cold. The palate a little more restrained and medium bodied than the Jacques Carillon. — 7 years ago
Still very good but not the 08 — 8 years ago

My first Batard-Montrachet and of course, it’s poured into a Solo cup because, Tailgate. Let’s go! The 2005 pours a deep golden color and on the nose, though it shows oxidative qualities, you can already perceive the concentration. Dried stone fruits mostly and pineapple “pate de fruit”, lemon, quince, and nuts. The palate was most fascinating. The attack was brighter with acid and chalk and more tart fruit but the finish was dense, round ripe and dry stone and pomaceous fruit that seemed to cling on the tonsils. Almost like two separate wines. Due to the concentration and acid, this probably has years to go but the oxidative character isn’t going away so I’d probably drink now. — 10 months ago
Rating will be drastically improved with significantly more aging! After four hours of air it seemed to finally show signs of opening up — 6 years ago

The 2002 pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing and basically a meatball right down the middle of the plate. Powerful notes of ripe pineapple, some ripe stone fruit, lemon curd, marzipan, butter, minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and has a great acid and mineral zip that helps cut through the density. This is a Chardonnay that so many producers desperately want to make but there are so few that can execute with this level of precision. Of the three wines in this flight it was sort of overshadowed early by the Sauzet and the Leroy Aligote…but that changed when the food came. Paired with the roulade du lapin, this was without equal. Drink now through 2032. — 5 months ago
