This is the Pignolo grape from Friuli. This is truly an incredible wine from a well-run vineyard. Let breathe and enjoy a super drinkable and refreshing wine that still can hang with red meats and charcuterie. — 4 years ago
Pignolo, this is my first time. It is recommended after terribly good algianico. But it has enough capability to follow it. A bit sweet but black fruits aroma, black cherry, black currant after stabilized @2800, XPiccola, 170908 — 7 years ago
On list as pignolo unclear what the blend was. Excellent. Floral and intoxicatingly bright with reasonable structure and long finish. Got better and better in the glass. — 7 years ago

From the east hill, pignolo, 2008. A rare grape a lovely deep coloured, aromatic wine with abit of raisin sweet, a bit of souple leather and a slight alcoholic kick that resembles grappa. — 4 years ago
Punchy with a berry after palette. Perfect with a caccio e pepe! — 5 years ago

My first experience with a Friulian Pignolo...Wow..what a simply perfect pasta/pizza wine. Nice bright berry red color... medium weight on the palate...smoke, BlackBerry fruit, sweet red fruit and brilliant lively acidity...perfect foil to red tomato sauce and sausage pizza. Only problem being that the balance, refreshment quotient, and cravability mean a single 750 is not enough. Lost the battle w/wife for last swallow! What a great bargain for Saturday night red sauce! — 4 years ago
Interesting mid weight wine. Little bit of spice on the finish. — 7 years ago
Vintage 2007 - I do like évery wine of La Tunella, and this one is very good indeed! It has a very complex smell with cedar, leather, chocolate and lots of cherries. A very smooth taste, no tannins that are disturbing, a touch of sweet thanks to lots of sunshine, powerfull. It's a great example what a winemaker can do with original grapes. 50% pignolo, 50% schopettino #friuli #pignolo #schopetinno #loveit — 7 years ago
