Alex likes this one. Notes of pear, honey and citrus with slight minerality. Light and fresh. — 4 months ago
Along w/ Pra & Pieropan - the royalty of Soave. Ca’Rugate also make fantastic reds. Their wines always technically correct and strike the proper balance of extraction & finesse. This was no different: floral and citrus, vein of minerality, suave acidic backbone, delicious finish. — 4 years ago

Quite shy at this stage, the single-vineyard 2019 Calvarino from Soave’s iconic producer Pieropan takes quite some coaxing from the glass, even having been decanted. It has reticent but enticing aromas of lemon juice, honey, some nuttiness and even a hint of star anise, while the palate is much more forthcoming. Lemons first, fresh, ripe and delicious; then, it caresses into peaches and melons, with tangy acidity but a very supple texture. The finish is quite long, and saline. Really a very pretty wine that I think will ultimately benefit from some mid-term ageing. — 25 days ago
