Vintage 2009 / Sunday lunch in the garden. I love September with these sunny days. Opened the bottle yesterday, floral tones in smell. A bit buxus. And a peculiar - not typical for sauvignon - honey impression. Today the wine opened up: beautiful jasmin smell, buttery. Vibrant acidity and surprisingly powerful. The floral smell remains. And a fine bitter in aftertaste. This bottle is among the finest Loire has to offer. / Paired with warm Liege Salad (salade Liégeoise, pommes de terre, haricots verts, bacon, vinaigrette). — 6 years ago
Dark and deep purple but medium bodied. Mencia blended with Bastardo and Garnacha Tintorera. Floral and bright but with good drying tannins, red berries, blackberry, grapey (!), bitter cocoa, ink, mineral, some anise. A little peculiar and I like it. From Flatiron Wines, Feb. 2019 NY Times 20 under $20 list. — 7 years ago
First mag I purchased from this winery, and this is 1 of 11 bottles purchased.....this is the last of two not counting the mag. Starting to ascend to its height but I still think it has 3-4 years before it is at the top. This wine is a blend that is a little on the "unusual" side but nothing bad about that! Peculiar blend, but oh man does this work. The nose is fig, plum, blackberry. The entry is dark, thick. Tar, blackberry, fig. Middle of plum, brambly, red clay. Massive black and purple fruit finish. Cherry cola finish. A little sweeter toasted tannin. Massive structure. — 7 years ago
Peculiar and very well made expression of Nero d'Avola. Perfectly balanced. A great conventional wine. — 8 years ago
Another winner, funky and delicious with a peculiar nose... and it's orange. 👍🏼 — 9 years ago
Sweet and smooth, but not overly sweet either. — 9 years ago
Felt like a justifiable extravagance during quarantine. Surprisingly aggressive mousse: bubbles were audible and hit the back of my tongue like pop rocks. Austere but pretty, like an early spring day, when it’s sunny but still too cool to ditch the winter coat and when some trees are blossoming but most are still bare. Aromatics: brioche, orchard fruit & blossoms (underripe apple, pear), early spring wild flowers, a touch of something tropical (passion fruit?). Flavors: baked apple, buttery notes quickly give way to alpine snow melt and reverberating, enamel-stripping acidity. A peculiar, but perfect date for Easter brunch. — 5 years ago
I am always eager to uncork a high end Washington Syrah! 😺🍷 I had been cellaring this bottle, the “last man standing” from my visit to the winery a few years back. This bottle did not disappoint. It is full of the rich plum fruits layered over that body so peculiar to Washington Syrah, this sort of pleasant mushroom tinge. I realize that may not sound palatable, but once tasted, it really lights up that “eureka!” center of the oenophile brain; imagine your first tastee if the Rutherford Dust tannic structure. Amaviis among my favorite Walla Walla wineries, and this Syrah is perfect for sipping with honored guests or old friends 😼 — 6 years ago
This wine is somewhat peculiar for a South African wine, it does have a lot of similarities to others. This wine has a lot of blackberry and black cherry influence, yet also maintaining the clove type of notes that I have come to find in a lot of these wines. This wine pour is rather dark into the glass, with a nose of floral perfume and blank teary. The palate is mostly dominated by black cherry, but enough clove enters into the equation to make it interesting. The middle of this wine goes slightly to a bacon fat sort of presentation. Finishes still rather tannic, therefore I think I'm going to let the other bottles sit for one or two years. — 7 years ago
Very peculiar wine that makes you think. A bit steeley when cold but after it warms a bit in the glass, it begins revealing heady floral aromas with elements of pear, clay, chalk, and apricot blossoms. Structured almost like a Petit Chablis. Honey and peaches on the mouth. Smooth, lengthy finish. — 8 years ago
Amazing, definitely meets my very high expectations from Priorat. Expressive and spicy, great fruit-wood and tannin-acidity balances (all on high level). Peculiar blend with aromas of Syrah and grenage — 9 years ago
Match box on the nose. Really some kind of reductive level I have never had before, and I love it. Very dry with high acidity, anything else tastes and smells like a fruit bomb after having this peculiar, yet excellent wine. — 6 years ago
One of the most peculiar natural wines I’ve tried. It’s a bit much for more than one glass. I’d share this with a group. — 6 years ago
Strawberry shortcake on the mid palate offset by grippy tannins that attack the gums. A truly peculiar and sexy rosé. So nice to try something that isn’t just ‘another rose.’ 😍 — 6 years ago
Capa media-alta. En nariz se percibe la barrica y cuero. En boca se percibe acaramelado en la entrada. Algo corto. Es agradable. Algo peculiar y distinto. Me gusta bastante — 7 years ago
Good body, delicate subtle nose. — 8 years ago

I like this. Peculiar scent in the beginning with freshness and somewhat sharpness, spicy and enjoyable after taste of berries. — 5 years ago
