un buen productor como es Daniel Vollenweider. Los “Goldgrube”, representan lo que sería un Grand Cru. Este 2012, catado en 2020; presenta bonito color dorado intenso. Potencia media en nariz, al inicio muchísimo de Hidrocarburos, que se va suavizando y da paso a flores blancas, nectarinas y frutas tropicales. En boca es un vino vertical, seco, con estructura, muy fresco, gran acidez pero equilibrada, mineralidad. Largo recorrido. Marida muy bien con Tartar de Salmón. — 5 years ago

This wine is called "Poise." On the nose, the fruits are combination of candied, tart and just a touch sour all at the same time. The fruit on the palate are ripe; Banana w/peel, pineapple, Meyer lemons, green & golden apple & lime candy. Soft/delicate minerality, spice that's subtle but builds as it sits on the palate, dry top soil and yellow florals/lilies. The body is medium. It's slightly waxy & oily. There's a honey beeswax quality. Banana w/peel, pineapple, Meyer lemons, green & golden apple, lime candy, grapefruit, soft/delicate, powdery minerality, dry top soil, brilliant round acidity, yellow florals/lilies and a long, rich, well polished finish. Most of the photos were sent to me by Elena from Top. One of their vineyards, Stanley Barrios (Owner/Winemaker), barrel storage & tasting area, some of their beautiful fruit and some rows of vines. Producer notes and history...Stanley Barrios was born in Los Angeles and raised in Inglewood California. Stanley got into wine after he met Nick Elliott of Nicora at a wine storage facility in North Hollywood where he was pouring his wines. At the time, Stanley was getting deeply involved in wine. He read all winemaking materials he could get his hands on. The day he met Nick he convinced him to let him intern in his cellar and worked his first harvest in 2013. Stanley still holds his investment firm job in Los Angeles. He and his wife started TOP in 2014. They both shared a passion for wine and had talked about starting a winery but with limited resources and living in Los Angeles the idea of starting their own winery seemed far-fetched. When opportunity knocked, they rushed to the opportunity. They chose a spinning top as their logo. For them, it's a metaphor for balance. Life is constantly in motion, but seldom in balance. Right now, they make wine in small quantities...only 200 cases their first vintage. In 2015, they produced about 500 cases and the 2016 vintage about 800 cases. They mainly focus on Rhone varietals; Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Roussanne. They are very minimalistic in cellar and try not to get in the way of what the grapes want to do. I have said this many times, if you have good fruit get out of it's way. If you don't, bring in lots of influences...like over oaking it etc.. Good to see a young producer know that earlier in their career. Nice job on the Poise. — 8 years ago

We went camping close to Los Olivos, CA ⛺️. But the goal was also to visit Union Sacre in Paso Robles on our way to Big Sur. And lucky for us we tasted with a Frenchmen XAVIER ARNAUDIN the winemaker all by ourselves. This guy is a lot of fun! All his whites were excellent and this Riesling is a standout! 20$. Rich 12.4% plenty of acid for balance. Quite herbaceous, tart and salty you almost taste the Santa Barbara sea breeze coming through. Honey melon Meyer lemon hint of mandarine waxy. Some Pro? gave this a 8.5 I cannot agree. For a Cali Riesling this is unique and better than most Tautomers. Highly recommended I will buy more and left with a case of whites when I left the tasting room - a winemaker to watch! — 5 years ago

The 2017 Chardonnay is soft, supple and absolutely delicious. Light tropical notes, lemon confit, white flowers and bright acids give the 2017 striking nuance as well as character. The Foxglove Chardonnay is built on a core of fruit from Los Alamos, with a touch of fruit from Paso Robles, vinified and aged in steel, with no malolactic fermentation. Este espumante lo serví despues del Lambrusco también para recibir el año nuevo, de muy buena estructura, como dice mi profesor a veces un vino puede ser la sensación de una celebración, no solo por su calidad sino con quienes lo estemos disfrutando, eso es lo que nos paso con este vino sin ser mejor ni peor que el Lambrusco tinto, (no me gustan las comparaciones), se disfruto y acompaño muy bien con los piqueos. #vinofavorito #vinorecomendado #vinos — 8 years ago

un buen productor como es Daniel Vollenweider. Los “Wolfer”, representan lo que sería un vino “Village” de la zona/pueblo de Wolf en Mosela. Este 2011, catado en 2020; presenta color dorado pálido, aun con algún destello verdoso. Potente nariz al inicio de Hidrocarburos, que se va suavizando y da paso a flores blancas, nectarinas y frutas tropicales. Persisten las notas a Petróleo o Keroseno.
En boca es un vino vertical, seco, gran acidez pero equilibrada, mineralidad. Corto. — 5 years ago

No soy muy aficionado a los Cabernet Sauvignon, siempre me han parecido muy cargados sobretodo en boca, pesados, será por eso que con carnes van muy bien, a mi más bien me gustan los vinos ligeros, frutados, especiados, muy sutiles en el paso por barricas, en fin… son gustos de cada quien, aunque debo decir que este vino en particular es más ligero, lo degustamos con parrilla de carne a discreción, no hay duda el Cabernet Sauvignon se luce y armoniza muy bien saludos #wine #wines #winelovers #piscopremium #piscosour #pisco #10añosdeamoralpisco — 7 years ago

Descripción
Es un vino tinto elaborado con Syrah con una ligera maceración y
estabilización en barrica, y un toque de Monastrell de alta extracción con
crianza larga.

Esta singular combinación de variedades y técnicas de
vinificación da como resultado un vino franco, alegre, intenso en nariz y
sabroso en boca.
Cepas jóvenes de Syrah de los valles del Vinalopó sobre terreno arenoso de alta densidad de plantación, con riego de apoyo con agua del subsuelo. Cepas viejas de Monastrell en vaso de más de 40 años cercanas a la Laguna de Salinas.
Vendimiado en septiembre de 2014, se maceró durante 5 días a 22ºC de temperatura. Una vez finalizada la fermentación, el Syrah estuvó en depósito con sus lias hasta que finalizó la fermentación maloláctica y el Monastrell se crió en barrica durante 9 meses. Finalizado este tiempo, se mezcló con el Syrah durante 1 mes en barricas usadas y se embotellaron.
Cata
Es un vino donde se encuentra un Syrah franco en nariz, casi sin matices. Al mismo tiempo, es un vino donde se muestra la variedad de técnicas utilizadas, y el toque de la Monastrell. Tiene el color muy atractivo, de una gran intensidad y con una tonalidad con reflejos violetas que se mantienen en el tiempo. En nariz es fruta, fruta madura, sólo Syrah, con un leve recuerdo a fino café sin tostar. En boca, tiene una buena entrada, muy sabrosa. Con un paso por boca intenso y franco, tiene un final con moderada acidez y donde resalta la fruta roja madura mezclada con un toque especiado y un poco de tabaco, proporcionados por la Monastrell. — 8 years ago
