Alma Rosa

Sta. Rita Hills Clone 115 Pinot Noir 2015

A good pinot. Some nice shoe leather/oil and forest floor complexity here but this wine lacked the sexiness of the greats. It just kinda falls flat at the end. — 6 years ago

What an amazing wine. Super nose that jumps out at ya. Big cherry. Big big fucking cherry. Spices, plum, semi sweet cocoa, such aromas. Totally spellbinding. Also a sense of gamey, meaty and smokey aromas add complexity. Awesome. Palate is vibrant, deep and so juicy, with amazing fruit and terrific acid and structure. What concentration! This has tannins that are soft but ever present, but so velvety. So pure and dazzlingly fresh. Really long finish that takes over the palate. The purity of this is incredible. What a mouthfeel as well. 100% Gamay in Amphorae. — 8 years ago

Gamay in amphorae? Craziness. You being you, do you know the volume of those things? I'm figuring you do know...because that would be one aspect of being Fassy.

@Severn Goodwin the maths I’m not good at. Let me check. Might have added it to today’s offer.

Alma de Cattleya

Sonoma County Chardonnay 2019

Alma de Cattleya Sonoma County Chardonnay 2019: Intense aromas. Bright flavors. Nice balance & acidity. Lemon, caramel & oak with a creamy, round textured finish. 100% Chardonnay from Sonoma County. Overall, an impressive & lovely wine from a new, unfamiliar winery. Looking forward to trying a few of their other grape varietals. Cheers🍷 — 5 years ago

This wine may be on the decline. The fruit has gone decidedly raisiny. But the acidity still shines and the wine remains delicious. — 6 years ago

Alma Negra

Gran Misterio Red Blend 2010

Excellent wine...

...it contains a ripe dark forest fruits aroma; with the same in mouth, it has good acidity, giving it a balance of sweetness and well integrated oak and tannin...

...an excellent example of Argentinian wine.

Misterio Red Blend 2013

The hidden blend of grapes for this is kinda fun. Obviously lots of Malbec, rich, intensely flavored dark fruit is the main character, with a hint of baking spice and something savory, and dusty tannins. Not much nose and finish but that's fine. — 9 years ago
