Has a different taste but is pretty good. — 5 years ago
Very tasty and exciting blend. Herbal notes of Carmenere, sleekness of Carignan, dark savory notes of fig and raisin seed from 100yr old Pais. Drink now or hold 12-18 months.
50% Carmenere, 25 % Carignan, 25% Pais — 5 years ago
Dusty dusty nose - aged hazelnuts.
Light bodied, with a touch of mushroom, tart berry, cran, pom, pom-cran, lemon grass acidity. This is a wild, ever changing wine, every time I taste it.
Last bottle, will have to go back to Chile, and get some more..

Listan Prieto, aka Mission aka Criolla chica aka Pais. The Benje Tinto from Envinante sourced from the DO Ycoden Daute Isora on Tenerife. Opens up very reductive, so be patient with it. Tart red fruit, very savoury and salty, like licking a stone, peppery. Like a northern Rhône but in the lack of flesh. Now call me conservative, but this above my threshold. However, very playful and fun, complex as well with a decent lenght and playful. — 5 years ago
Cacique Maravilla Pipeno Pais 2016. These grapes are 100% organic wine. The soil has never been contaminated with pesticides. When I poured it from my coravin it bubbled in the glass. The color is almost like a pink sparkling wine. And the bouquet is sparkly fizzy fun on my nose. The initial bouquet is not far behind with a light tingle on my tongue. However this is a dry wine. It is very light with cherry and cranberry fruit. It is a very simple wine. The mid-palate loses all the fizz and flows into a nice semi dry finish. There are Earth tones and oak on the mid palate as well!!!!! This would be awesome slightly chilled to about 52 degrees on a hot day. — 7 years ago
On the nose; black cherries, strawberries, black raspberries, cherries and raspberries, dark moist soils, bubble gum, gently minerals with red & pink roses.
On the palate; dry, sticky tannins, black cherries, strawberries, black raspberries, cherries and raspberries, dark moist soils, bubble gum, gently minerals with red & pink roses, beautiful acidy and well polished, elegant finish.

This is the Garage Wine Co. 2017 Phoenix Frement. I’ve asked Delectable to add it.
One of the more enjoyable nights we’ve had on the trip was meeting Derek Mossman - Owner/Winemaker of Garage Wine Co. and tasting through 15+ wines at his house and then going out to dinner to enjoy the best two wines. The next day we got up and picked in his Truquilemu Vineyard; which is about 35km from the coast.
Macerated lemon, a little cream, citrus blossoms, underripe pineapple, melon, light chalkiness, passion fruit, guava, white flowers, granite mineral, very good acidity and a rich polished finish.
