30 minute decant. Dark purple, almost black color. Nose is filled with brown sugar, dark cherry, and plum. Mix of CDP and Rhône. Wine is very concentrated with plum flavor to start and coffee and cocoa at the end. Lovely texture! Medium finish. Better than my first bottle of this. — 5 years ago

La Chapelle hits it out of the ballpark! Here is a Mâcon chard at under $20 that should be purchased by the case. A delicious hint of tropical fruits and no hint of oak on the palate. Some oak and pain grille aromas, but the balance here is spot on. This is a great find by Peter Weygandt. — 9 years ago

A very complex and layered wine. Great depth. Toasted nuts, graham cracker pie crust, dried apricot, golden raisins, crushed rocks, pain aux raisins, sea salt. There's a great earthy layer almost like damp button mushrooms. Lots of umami character. Love the nose, almost with this allusion that theres lots of RS but palate is defined and elegant. There are some places in the world where they view present day America as a place where we expect to be happy. Should we feel bad they live in places where you should just expect hardship? We live in a time and place where we can focus on building our inner selves and have a chance at....When we're not constantly putting out fires we can really focus on...should that be a source of shame. When the desperate struggle to find food and shelter is finally behind us, we can turn our attention to other sources of pain and truth.

The nose displayed a dark and fascinating bouquet of crushed blackberry, smoke, grilled meats, animal musk, mint leaf, and floral undergrowth. On the palate, I found fresh and vibrant textures offset by rich red fruits, granular minerality, hints of pepper, inner floral and earth tones.
