I bought this bottle of Vin Perdu (or ‘lost wine’) from the Costco in Humble a week before Hurricane Harvey. That Costco received four feet of water. The wine guy told me they threw out every single bottle of wine, even everything up in the steel. So happy I was able to save this lost wine from being lost. Blackberry preserves, chocolate, toast, menthol, and leather. Delicious.

I have nothing to add to Robert Parker's spot-on take on the 2013: "The wine shows rich, saddle-leather-infused coffee and chocolaty blackberry fruit and plenty of robust, bordering on rustic flavors. This is a pedal-to-the-metal, fun wine and very well-made; a big, substantial mouthful of wine..."

Loved this but then again is there anything that she doesn't get right? Complex, aromatic, beautiful finish and had great acidity to go with the pork. Clearly a balanced food wine. First time having it and my wife and I loved it.

A beauty for NYE! Loads of Syrah flavor since it was more prominent in this blend.

A big wine that needs a little more time in the cellar in my opinion. Lots of complexity in this Heidi Barrett blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Cab Franc. Dark fruit, spices and chocolate flavors with nice acidity and gritty tannins that should soften in time. The flavor profile is really interesting and I wish I could try it again in 5 or 10 years.
