Beautiful #floral notes. Pronounced aroma of black berries, spices and #rosepetals notes. A wine of elegance and strength. Made in Valpolicella, using around 30% of #passito grapes, hence the name Arele, which apparently in Italy means the wooden rack for drying the grapes. The wine is made of mostly local grape varieties, including Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta, and a splash of Merlot. It tastes round, full body but elegant with bright acidity to support the wine, and long finish. Well made. — 8 years ago

Great, big wine...at Filomena's in DC...with great company! — 5 years ago
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Light nose of blueberries, dried figs, raisins, vanilla, sweet raspberries, tobacco, herbs, wood, earth, chocolates, coffee, vegetables, leather and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, dark cherries, blueberries, wood, cloves, vanilla, spices, espresso, vegetables, earth, wet leaves, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.
Medium plus on the finish with grippy tannins and tangy pomegranates.
This is a young Amarone. Still not fully balanced, but already enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
I would recommend to let it open for a couple of hours to show the complexity and the big tannins.
Needs 5 to 10 years of additional bottle time, to properly mature and tone down on the tannins.
A Blend of 50% Corvina Veronese, 30% Rondinella, 15% Corvinone and 5% Oseleta. Aged for 3 years in Slovenian oak barrels.
15% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Punchy, strong, a little fruity and slightly sweet. — 9 years ago
After pressing dried grapes from making Amarone, Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm skins of Amarone for 2nd alcoholic fermentation, increasing the alcoholic content, aromas and color. Blend of 85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta. Deep Ruby with aromas of sweet dried berry fruits and pepper spice. On the palate ripe blackberry, currants and sweet cherry with complex spice. Well balanced with acidity and alcohol, full-body with soft tannins on long finish. Nice value. — 3 years ago
Had this in a restaurant! Founded in 1902 with a vineyard farmed by Giacomo's grandfather, located in Pedemonte village in NW part of Verona, now run by 4th generation of Tommasi family. A blend of 50% Corvina Veronese, 15% Corvinone, 30% Rondinella & 5% Oseleta. Aromas of dried fruits with savory spice notes. On the palate sweet plum and sweet cherry flavors with pepper & cacao. Soft tannins, chewy on lingering finish ending with an oak character. Nice! — 5 years ago
Made with Corvina Veronese, Syrah, and Oseleta varietals, this bottle presents a full and juicy mouthwatering wine. Complex notes of bright red fruit are balanced with subtler hints of coffee bean, cocoa, and cayenne. It's a wonderful representation of the wines from Valpolicella and one that I'll be more than happy to age and revisit years from now. — 7 years ago
