Hard pour if you’ve a desire to to see a head of coffee foam in dark cappuccino. It loiters a little with unctuous lacing that stick in place in globules, sporadically spaced. Dark chocolate scented, where brew, and coffee bean mix with toffee and sweet cedar, vanilla bean and nougat. Chocolate-pecan-caramel turtles amp up with mocha and espresso, a tiny pinch of black pepper, dark tobaccos, bakers chocolate, and brown sugar coated malt chocolate. Sweet initially, then revelatory as it sorts its relationships, then bitter, with pine, acanthus, chicory, walnut and pecan shell. Warm, rich, and covered in monster muck. Like a cigar smoke filled station wagon driven by a dark chocolate Santa after an Italian truck stop espresso run being slowly pulled into a tar pit. One for the ages. Big, just-off-white crown lingers over dark, orange-amber, but once it resides is nearly laceless with isolated organic, punctuating archipelagos. Initial, buttery nutritional yeast, crystalline mangrove honey, magnolias, marigold, candied lemon peel and sweet rosemary, but don't let the fig addition and the sweet aromatics fool you; sour and underripe complexity ensues. Medium-heavy, unfiltered mouthfeel feels petulant, but swallows almost flat due to the dichotomy of dryness. Dried and underripe apricot combo, pineapple essence, gooseberry, chalk, snail shell, gravel dust, dried violets, fishbone, key lime, tangerine zest, and leek. Sediment rich auburn redhead. With orange-tinged crown, that shrinks to tiara to tonshu with a snap, leaving only a shrinking island across a flat, rusty pond. Drops of black molasses, cooked, glazed pumpkin, butternut and acorn squashes. Dark rum soaked Dutch chocolate and vanilla wafers and moist pineapple cake. Trifles sporting rum soaked berry and carry-overs of ripe peach and nectarine. Finally date roll, figs ginger, candied lemon peel and dark brown sugar to fill the nostrils with seasonal magicks. Actual pumpkin tastes here! Rich and filled with vanilla bean, Turkish delight, fig fillings, nutmeg, candied ginger, gingerbread in caramel and spiced rum, gin-raisins, coriander, allspice, coffee cremes, clotted cream, clove, just-burnt cinnamon candies, reduced cola, licorice, and orange liqueur with a touch of juniper. Strong, festive, outrageously alcoholic (17.5 abv) delightful, warming, singular and iconic.
