Bright aromas of sour red cherries, rhubarb, earthy spice and some savorury/stalky herbal qualities. Both and weight both immaculate. Supple, fluid, intense and great length. Drinking well now with develop just stating to peek through the primary fruits. Still has time. — 9 years ago
Greg Linn! Third Pinot with Meera and Mythri — 9 years ago
Insane aromatics of honey and seashells. With my first taste I looked around for a lifeguard as I felt I might be drowning given the level of salinity that filled my mouth. Despite the strong ocean influence the perfect amount of sweetness sneaks in and combines with the acid allowing the wine to surf my mouth on an endless wave of flavor. — 10 years ago
Pale yellow color with appealing green apple, lime, cantaloupe, ocean breeze aromas complemented by hints of tropical fruit and orange blossom. On the palate, it approaches medium bodied, and persistent with crackling acidity, and a wonderful texture. It shows green apple, lime a bit of stone fruit and a bit of melon flavors with a giving finish. 2014 Vintage — 10 years ago
Aavery nice everyday wine at this price point. Fruity, not particularly complex. Bright fruit, mostly sour cherry and cranberry, but with an overriding sweetness, so no puckering. — 10 years ago
Was Solomon Pico the legendary Zorro? Interesting that this vineyard is the closest Santa Maria to the Pacific Ocean — 11 years ago
Steely, austere, super mineral (deep ocean crushed shells). Grippy, beautiful texture and laser focused acid. Incredible long length! — 8 years ago
This is outstanding chard. Ocean air and smoke on the nose. You can sense the level of toast on the barrels used here. The palate is dense, yet balanced. Dried apricots, pineapple, golden raisins, butterscotch, then moving to nectarine, honeycomb, kumquat, susumu orange, the layers just keep coming. The more time you let this longer in the glass, the more you will discover. Great acidity to balance the richness. 7 years old and going strong. Lots more ahead. — 9 years ago
An all time fav. Vines grow up to the cliff overlooking the ocean. Can taste the shist and salt. Delicate ethereal wine. Maybe a muscadet? — 10 years ago
Beautiful tropical nose with clear hints of vanillin oak. This has serious presence on the pallet and the texture shows serious restraint that really pays off, it is so supple and perfectly delicate and fresh. Touch of granite minerality. WOW!
Seriously outstanding. — 10 years ago
Finishing off the night...cheesecake and bourbon. Ocean is definitely a wee bit briny but has all the savory caramel and vanilla notes of its Presidential brethren, smooth and rich comported. And not so loaded with the alky...so I may have another — 11 years ago
2012 This seems to be at its best. Light well balance but short finish. — 8 years ago
Mr. Aylward, you've outdone yourself, keep up the fantastic work. — 9 years ago
Home-juice in Oz. Do not drink this until it has been properly decanted. Swiss rose hips, ocean spray and kaffir lime. The palate on this wine is explosive and practically percolative. The flesh you glean from this wine is appropriate while all the sand and silt seems to coalesce into a pure and crystalline offering. — 9 years ago
Immediately you are bombarded with scents of lime and ocean air. Wave after wave of salt water coated fruit caress every inch of your mouth. Reminds me of the flavor you get when sucking on the walking legs of a lobster. Incredible balance which allows this wine to have an endless finish — 10 years ago
Redcurrant, lush cherry, soft worn leather, ocean breeze, bitter orange, clove. Almost reminiscent of Amaro. Sip, savor, contemplate a moment, repeat. Needs time, though — 10 years ago
