All of the grapes from the vineyards owned by the Latour family are vinified and aged in the cuverie of Château Corton Grancey in Aloxe-Corton. The winery was the first purpose-built cuverie in France and remains the oldest still-functioning. Pale lemon with aromas of stone fruits with a slight floral character. On the palate peach flavors with lemon nutty notes. The finish has lively acidity and ends with some of minerality. — 6 years ago
Picking up a juiced pear on the nose today, but otherwise prior notes still apply:
Nose has ripe yellow apple, lightly oxidized green apple peel, baked phyllo dough, partially aromatic white flowers and damp rocks. I always get a natural wine vibe here, without the vinegar-like profile, but it seems alive!
Palate has baked green and yellow apple pastry, crisp acidity yet dense, candle wax begins on the finish and ends with dry granite. Great balance, very lengthy finish, clean and not cumbersome, superb vintage, long life ahead. We love you Jean-Jacques. — 6 years ago
I love IPOB . Sorry this movement ends. — 8 years ago
Tart yet surprisingly sweet. Smooth and nice tannins. Starts fruit forward and ends with oak, a bit more oak than I'd like. — 8 years ago
From the Haro-Lumia Tasters Dozen. Faint notes of cherry are evident, but secondary flavors dominate this medium-bodied wine. While lighter on the palate, it is full of forest floor, mushroom, and tobacco flavors. The finish is long and ends with a hint of menthol. Just a beautiful, seductive wine that will only get better over the next 10 years. A WS Top 100. — 8 years ago
Orange-flavored wine. One of the best orange wines I have had, with a nose and palette combining oranges and flowers. The citrus attack ends with a strong acidic finish. Many people will hate this wine if they don’t like orange wine, but this is one of the best examples of this style. — 5 years ago
2014 gold label. Cherry flavors with other dark fruit. Drinking very well. Ends with a leather finish. — 6 years ago
Limestone and flint, some fresh turned earth. It opens with tannins, black peppercorns, purple plum skin, and ends with light red fruit, possibly pomegranate. — 7 years ago
I am definitely putting out on the fence the Rockford flag🤣🤣
This is so nice
Still extraordinary fragrant fruit decorated with liquorice
Super long
Young
It doesn’t leave your palate
Key points: focused intensity in the nose and persistence that never ends 🙏🙏🙏 — 8 years ago
Valpolicella, but more elegant than any Valpolicella I have had. Likely because it really is an Amarone in disguise. The grapes are dried only 6 weeks instead of 3 months. As is typical for Valpolicella, the wine starts out sweet, but not too sweet. It then ends in a peppery finish. The nose is pepper dominated. Unlike Valpolicella, there are no harsh edges or rustic fruitiness. While a great wine, the $100 price tag is not justified. I feel there are Amarones that are better at this price. — 8 years ago
Found another bottle. Ruby with aromas of ripe red fruits, oak and herbs. The palate shows tart cherry, strawberry and plums. Tannins are big, yet approachable with good acidity noted. The finish is medium and ends with earthy mineral notes. Very nice for reasonably priced Barolo. — 9 years ago
Aromas of dark black fruits - blackberry, plum, blueberry. Bold and big, with soft integrated tannins that draw you into the inner sanctum of the grape varietal. A tinge of age at the ends, but not in the fore front. Nice lovely finish lasting over 30 seconds before it breaks down. Definitely at its peak of performance. Paired well with the bolognese. Even better with the veal chop with figs, pluots, and watermelon radish. As Elizabeth says, this is a gorgeous wine. “It’s a grown up, but not old”. Or as I like to say, like a 40 year old classy lady wearing an evening gown and pearls - just stunning! — 6 years ago
A genius Klingelberger. What a nose. So floral. Flower shop levels. Little shop of insane dry Riesling. Gorgeous Mosel like fruit. Smells ripe and sweet but also bone dry. Green apples. Pear. Apricot. So vivid and detailed. Just wonderful. Lime blossom, sweet lime. Endless aromas. Fresh field level 10. But also rock quarry. Staggering young Klingelberger aromas. Palate is epic like a Norwegian Viking documentary epic. Dense, structured, deep man is this deep with just stunning purity and freshness. So vivid and so detailed. This is god level balance. So long. Never ends. The purity of this wine is just incredible. Amazing finesse and elegance and screamingly mineral and very very complex on the finish. This is a staggering young Klingelberger. 9.7. Yup. Just genius. Amazing concentration and depth. Really I can’t get over how good this is. — 6 years ago

Amazing Chianti from an amazing (and steadfastly consistent) producer! Super cherry with beautiful tobacco and leather notes ends in a super-long quality finish! Dirk now, then drink some more!! — 7 years ago
Went out to dinner and saw this on the wine list and was hard to look elsewhere. In southern Burgundy, at the northern border of Beaujolais, lies the Pouilly-Fuisse appellation. Pale straw with nice gold edges and aromas of citrus and stone fruits with a slight nutty character. On the palate grapefruit and peach flavors with lemon zest notes, showing subtle oak tones. The finish has lively acidity and ends with a touch of minerality. — 8 years ago
Pretty darn good for something below $25. West Cape Howe, you've done it again. — 9 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Tried twice, very nice! Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, flinty spice, floral and oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry & plum with hints of espresso, cacao and licorice wrapped in subtle oak. Firm tannins, great old world balance with acidity, full body, long finish ends with fruit, oak, spice, and earthy mineral character. — 4 years ago
