Dense boysenberry in color: nose of blackcurrant, spice and a little licorice; lovely texture of fully ripe fruit that’s bright with just enough supporting tannin. SQN always so solid. — 3 years ago

Big and enormous! Beautiful fruit forward Syrah. Go big or go home. Love it! — 6 years ago
Full bodied, wood still not integrated almost Californian in style. Way too early. Would never have identified this as a meursault blind. — 6 years ago
Sine Qua Non extended barrel age tasting.
Together with the Stockholm syndrome this was my WOTN.
All wines performed beautifully. It showed a consistent style throughout the line up with only nuanced differences.
The EBA cuvee's get an extended time in barrel. Typically 12 months extra if I'm correct. We selected bottles that had a bit of age / cellar time from our collections since these need time to show their full development potential.
Massively structured and a plethora of spices can be found in all cuvee's. High alcohol but all well integrated and balanced. Worth seeking out if you like the style. — 7 months ago

The 2nd WNH Zoom tasting on 3/29 with a “open any white” theme. The On The Lam is eleven years old and is reminiscent of the Backwards and Forwards at this point in its development. I had a Backwards & Forwards in 2017 that had a ridiculously delicious array of secondary characteristics that were just outstanding in their funky goodness. This bottle reminds me more of that wine at age 10. It has transformed from youthful to mature but displays no adolescent awkwardness. Honeyed melon, marzipan, candied pear and burnt marshmallow envelop a firm backbone of acidity. It’s adding weight but ever so slowly. Right now it’s still lithe and pushy and a changeling in the glass that warrants frequent check ins because a night of drinking will deliver 4 or 5 different wines for your drinking pleasure. — 5 years ago
Holy moly, where did this one come from!? This had the nose of full throttle drunken elderberries and freshly baked blackberry pie with pepper and spice and everything nice! This tastes like whole cluster Grenache If there really is such a thing. Black and blue, pepper and spice, black cherry cola, mouth coating, inky. Dissecting out all of the notes that were swirling around, it would take me probably an hour, and everyone would be bored and probably stop reading. This was massive. And has probably a couple of decades left! — 6 years ago

Oh my god... This was fantastic!!! On the nose it is thick and heady. Darkest red wine I might have ever had. Rich looking in the glass. You taste it multiple times. In comes in waves. Spices mixed so well with fleshy fruit and it lingers and resonates. Smokey and sooo deep. An utterly spectacular wine. — 7 months ago
