Wow, this is an amazing and unique SB. Bold, dense, yet very drinkable. Honeydew, apricot, apple and melon. — 6 years ago
Very dense. White pepper meaty some petrol under. Strong floral. Dense strawberry flavors. Mid finish — 7 years ago
MGM minnetonka. Mild. Easy drinker. Little spice at the end. Would buy again. — 7 years ago
Decanted 45 min though think it needs more time, very young wine. Very aromatic fruit when opening the bottle. Dark red fruit - black cherry and plum, raspberry; chocolate, coffee, graphite, pepper, plush tannins, well integrated acidity, high ABV but hides it well. Medium finish. Will be interesting to see this evolve over next few years in the cellar. — 5 years ago
Very elegant, silk, medium body, French oak, sexy and mature — 5 years ago
Lingering mouthfeel, creamy, subtle fruit notes. — 6 years ago

By the glass with lunch, no formal notes. First time ever trying Khikhvi and I can imagine this is how wine was made 1000 years ago. Obviously extended skin contact with a copper salmon color. Funky fresh nose and complex on the palate with all sorts of interesting fruit and non-fruit things going on. Acid and tannin providing good structure. Certainly a change of pace and quite enjoyable actually. — 5 years ago
excellent for the price! $30 at restaurant affiliated with brewery in Seattle (nine hats pizzeria). Cranberry/blackberry, dark chocolate, cedar. Easy drinker — 6 years ago
Tried a Sample and bought a bottle. In 1989, Melville Vineyards, was founded in Sonoma, where Ron Melville grew high quality, Chard, Merlot, and Cab Sauv. In 1996, Ron's desire to grow Pinot Noir brought Melville Vineyards to Lompoc's Sta. Rita Hills, in Santa Barbara County. Ruby with aromas of sweet red fruits and vivid spice. Flavors of raspberry and strawberry, currant like, adding cinnamon and leathery notes. Fine tannins, lingering ending with nice mouthfeel bringing back fruit and subtle spice. Nice! — 6 years ago

Tasting of nine 1996 Cabernets, Merlots and Bordeaux blends from California, Bordeaux and Australia. Clearly I bordeaux. Unfortunately had a green bell pepper knows that was off-putting. — 5 years ago
