This opened up with dark cherries, fresh soil and leather and then some moss and tobacco and touches of dark chocolate hit me as well. This was a good glass of wine. Seemed a bit tight and could used some time in a decanter which unfortunately we did not have time to do properly. I feel this is a strong wine that should be even better in a couple of years. — 8 years ago

Right out of the bottle faint post rain rock, moss, and leather first pour nose showing deep red front-mouth fruit with youthful tannins that will coax your tongue to the roof of your mouth and groovy acid slowing things down letting the moment linger, penetrate, and compliment the amazing meatballs served up by Ben Barker (of Magnolia Grill Durham) at his son's amazing new pizzeria, in Carrboro, NC (do not miss!!)

Light to medium bodied but has intensity. 2.4 tonnes/Hectare - very low cropping and biodynamic and very Left Bank Bordeaux. Has the Margaret River Herbaceousness. Vanya Cullen prefers this style but I prefer the more masculine Cuvees made by Woodlands and Moss Wood. 87% Cabernet 11% Merlot 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. Still a classy drop. — 8 years ago

Douglas fir, fernet, wet moss, ferns, smoke, spice cake, dark cherry, wet rocks, violets. There's a masculine almost fleshy character with lots of soft and elegant feminine qualities simultaneously. Beautiful tannin structure. — 9 years ago
