Delightful Pinot, amazing value Russell Bevan legend — 9 years ago
From magnum; slow-oxed for three hours.
Lovely deep colour, with healthy (not flabby) bricking, though slightly shaken up from the car journey (despite having held it tightly all the way); enchanting nose, like standing in the depths of a cedar forest! Also hints of peppery leather, sweet liquorice, and pencil shavings. Lovely depth to the nose, permeating into the room as the meal progressed. Wonderful length (40s or more) and great balance, with well integrated but still firmish tannins and fantastically poised acidity.
I inspected the dregs the following morning (see picture) and the bottle still smelled amazing - even stronger than the night before, though the wine itself had started to flag a bit. Nonetheless an amazing drop! — 10 years ago
Incredible. Red fruit and funk on the nose, drinks light and refreshing. — 11 years ago

Fantastic sunny afternoon. What could be better than a pre-dinner bottle of Bolly in the sun with cheese, fruit & crackers? 🎉🎉🍾🍾🍾🍾 — 10 years ago
Some spices, black cherries, sun dried tomatoes & some hints of a spicy barbecue sauce. Showing signs of beginning to reach maturity. Spices and black cherries with some herbs, sun dried tomatoes. Smooth dry tannins and medium amounts of acid. Full bodied with a dry oaky finish. We'll balanced and quite delicious. — 10 years ago
Double gold winning Pinot - unique, balanced and ready to drink or age a bit longer. Definitely one to take home! — 11 years ago
The 2011 is not ready so there on the 2012 in June. Gorgeous deep fruit, 10 was a hot year. Deep sweet cherry. Post ferment max station gives more savoury notes. Hint of green, herbaceous note. Minerally, earthy. Wowzers. Textured, complete, powerful. earthy, smoky, probably the best PN in Marlborough. Meaty, animal length. Wow! — 11 years ago
Thank you @melissa_ful for such a beautiful surprise! — 12 years ago

Consistent with previous bottle...well made Pinot — 10 years ago
Oh heck. I wish I had more. I don't know Aussie wine but don't think that would make a big diff in how to interpret this oner. It is an individual and a nice one at that.
It is smooth and merlot Berry then POW there are your Gewurtztraminer spices and whoa. Despite my hatred of the color of yellow I can dig it. Yowza. — 10 years ago

This yellow-gold wine rings the “old-style Cali” bell in all the right ways. A nose of apricots, mangoes and apples is helped along with the smell of buttered popcorn. Oak treats the palate as well, draping over the tropical fruit like a sunshade. The acidity is zesty, yet the mouthfeel tends toward creaminess due to the wine sitting on the lees for five months. The oak is a definite part of the wine, but the effect is softened enough so that it's a pleasure, not a pain. — 7 years ago
