Light straw with a plethora of tiny bubbles. Distinctively Clouet from beginning to end. An attractive bouquet of vanilla and smoke, with red apples and butter. Plenty of dried cherries and oak to go with the citrus and floral aromas.
Powerful and direct with finesse and character, that’s the Clouet trademark. Equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Bouzy. Nice, smooth acidity and a more than generous nature, as always. The palate is delectable with salted butter, citrus, and ripe red fruits. Yet another hit for one of my favorite producers.

Seriously special stuff going on here. Quite the aesthetically pleasing package. Old gold in the glass with persistent effervescence. A hefty dose of reserve wines make all the difference in the world here. The nose is extraordinary. Fun and complexity for days. Aged cheese, dried cherries, and oak. Apples drizzled with honey and a side of fragrant herbs. Intense and lovely.
100% Grand Cru Pinot Noir from Bouzy. Aged on lees for almost thirteen years and you can tell. Mature and focused. Regal and distinctive. This is a big, majestic champagne in nature. Oak and smoke mingle with red apples and spice. Hot buttered bread and honey with cherries and a touch of menthol. The finish is marvelously long and smooth. A gem of a wine. — 10 months ago

Fruity but still dry. Long in the mouth. Some faint spiced notes — 7 months ago
Lots of complex aromatics that became even more expressive as the bottle warmed up. Some oxidative notes mixed with bread and flowers. In the mouth this leans to the vinous side. Acid driven which allows it to be consumed through out the meal. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish — a year ago
Broad with a quick bite of cherry-like acidity on the front of the palate and tangy yellow fruit in the mid palate followed by brioche and toast. Beautiful bottle of wine. — 3 years ago

Dryyyyy and bubbly — 9 years ago
Fabulous aromatics of ripening apples. Palate is intense and long. Ferrous, slightly oxidative. Massive palate. Give it some time to allow the middle to come together. A real brick shithouse of a champagne. Base 2013 / disgorged July 2021. — 7 months ago

Excellent PN dominant Champagne, crisp green apple and truckloads of bubbles give way to a spicy, toasty finish with good length. 2023 is a wrap — 4 months ago
