Crisp, dry, and refreshing. Love it! — 9 years ago
Not 'complexity'. This is 100% Cabernet , I think. Plummy & mouthfilling. Mighty fine. — 9 years ago
Holy smokes this is good, the purity in this wine is so appealing and perceptible.
Sangiovese 75%, Cabernet Sauvignon 15%, Canaiolo 10%
Sweet and fresh crushed cherries, a touch of cassis, a touch of fresh flowers and herbs, with fine and supple tannin and a bright, fresh red fruit acidity. This wine is so pleasing and complete. The finish is long but nimble and clean!
A top five new find (for me). Apparently these guys have been around a while but are impossible to find here in the US.

Grenache from the Languedoc is reading my mail these days. Nimble palate weight, pleasant presence of volatile acidity, a great balance of dark fruit and acid. — 10 years ago
Licorice and blackberry. Truly wonderful red. Masterful wine. — 10 years ago
Pretty, elegant Nebbiolo from cool climate old vineyards a ways north of Barolo. Incredible value for this much nimble length, violets, minerality, tawny fruits. Makes me want truffles, great sausages, even morels with peas and grated sheep cheese, a superlative food wine. — 11 years ago

Cloud's Nest Vineyard, as the name suggests is perched 1,500 feet above sea level in the Mayacamas mountain range. Gravelly soils further limit the vines' growth and the aromatics are striking. Earth and forest floor, wild mushrooms, underbrush, warm leather and soy. The palate echoes this high-altitude Cab's woodsy aromatics, with a medium-bodied countenance and a nimble vein of acidity that amplifies black cherries and cedar, and on the finish dried sage and anise. 14.2% ABV | Sample

Mighty fine dark battle between tobacco and graphite and black fruit — 10 years ago
Loved it, as did Kaipo and friends. — 11 years ago
Super tight when first opened. Big black pepper and currants. After about 1.5 hours really opened up and was mighty tasty! — 11 years ago

2001 vintage. Medium ruby - some bricking starting to show. On the nose, much more feminine and subtle than the mighty 2002. More appealing and subtle. On the palate, medium plus acidity and medium body. Tannins are more integrated than the 2002. Length is shorter than the 2002, but the overall wine is more enjoyable and more in line with what I consider a Clos de Tart to be. Drink now until 2027+. — 9 years ago
