Today, the Ferragamo family, with the help of Enologist Niccolo’ D’Afflitto have been working to develop the practices that have been used at Il Borro since 1760 under the ownership of Medici-Tornaquinci. A blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc, 10% Syrah & 5% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with a berry earthy spice nose. On the palate good full dark berry flavors with a nutty oak character. Fine rustic tannins, lingering ending with earthy berry tones. — 6 years ago
Wow! Nice surprise! Really full-bodied red. Nice oak notes on a full, fruit-forward body. If tasting blind I would have thought this was a Napa cabernet. Not at all a typical Italian red blend. I'm headed back to Lidl to look for more! Great value!!! — 7 years ago
Delicious orange wine from vineyards previously reserved for only the Medici family. Great balance and depth. — 8 years ago

INCREDIBLE blanc de noirs vintage bubbles from Teutonic. Rich, ripe and autolytic while still having amazing cut and focus. Almost ciderlike in its pure crisp apple flavor. Concentrated nose of ripe and baked red apples, flaky pastry dough, toasted almonds, saline and crushed chalk, and a bit of nutmeg spice. Palate is remarkably similar to the nose and the flavors ride a laser beam of intense, high acid and a very fine bead of bubbles. Bone dry. Medium (-) body with great leesy texture. One of the best bottles of bubbles I've had in recent memory and an almost dead ringer for good vintage BdN Champagne. — 8 years ago

Perfect with filet of beef. Carmignano is one of the oldest appellations in the world. Cosimo III de Medici in 1716 issued a bando to ensure its continued quality. Mostly Sangiovese, it has some Cabernet owing to a Medici marrying into the French royal family. — 9 years ago
I could drink this every night. Light but serious. — 9 years ago

Giulio de' Medici - a member of the florentine Medici family - became Pope Clemente VII in 1523 and used to live in Campoli in the Chianti Classico area where today they produce this superb wine (off the back of the bottle) Love reading about the Medici family. So much history there! Great wine for after a belly full of pasta! — 9 years ago
