wine match for delicious duck at La Pic Dame lunch. rich but zesty — 6 years ago
At the Downs Club Magnum Christmas Dinner. A tinge of green to the Lemon yellow colour - very youthful. Restrained for an Art Series where temporarily they joined the Aussie trend at the time for leaner sulphidic burnt match aromas. This is a good balance between their normal peaches and cream and the leaner crisper style. This was an excellent wine and remains one of Australia’s best Chardonnays. — 7 years ago

Does VERY well a decant, takes the brett( which actually like) out & smoothes the edges a bit. Dark dark black fruits, that volcanic minerality all through. Mild to mod tannins. Can match any food, just about- this time chicken w saffron, apricots; roasted brussel sprouts, & corn pudding w roasted garlic & sage — 8 years ago
Rock solid Chablis, crisp. Minerality and orange zest. Perfect match for lemon-seared scallops served cold. Nice find @Chris Young! — 9 years ago

2017 is lean, laser-focused and crunchy as a basket of fresh cranberries. Monster acidity and very taught mineral backbone. Brighter and fresher than the 2016 with comparatively subtle florality. This is an excellent match with a broad range of Pacific Rim foods. — 7 years ago
Enjoyed along with best Iberian ham, Manchego 🧀 & Catalan tomato/olive oil bread - divine & @ €125 - 😍 Barcelona in our living room ❤️
🍇 95% Tempranillo & 5% Merlot
🍷 Opaque Ruby

Had this at Glen & Josh's wedding. Absolutely stunning. Struck match on the nose, not overly oaky and woody, light and delicious. (I only know the struck match note because I was told about it, but it sounds good :P) — 9 years ago
Excellent, mature but drinking perfectly, perfect match with spicy pork and chorizo stew. — 9 years ago
The idea that the drinking window of this wine ended in 2018 is laughable (from CT). This is my first btl of a few. Pop and pour, struck match, reduction, but that dissipates with a bit of air. On the nose: lemon, golden apple, loads of wet stone minerality. On the palate: fantastic acidity, lemon oil, herbs, golden apple (the black cherry pie baking in the background is extremely distracting), then amazing wet stone minerality. Stunning for a white, especially in this vintage. — 5 years ago
Delicious. Smells of blueberry and minerals. Strong tannins. Fragrant. Yum yum yum. Plenty of alcohol to get the boys buzzin. — 7 years ago
A great Rioja! Hey beautiful balance of body acidity tannins. Bright cherry notes with leather undertones. Match very well with a grilled steak. — 8 years ago

2001 SuperTuscan heavyweight match with Tignanello vs Flaccianello. This one got off to a slow start in the early rounds with a muted nose and flat palate, but after a couple hours was sparring vigorously with its dark well-extracted fruit, tobacco, and suede. Was it enough to take the title? Perhaps not, as I think the aromatics were never quite up to the task - but bravo ragazzo! — 9 years ago

Cork crumbled but wine was sound! Needed a bit of air. Struck match, lemon curd, marzipan, minerality, med + acid, long finish. — 9 years ago
Very nice right bank style. Big fruit in the nose and tannins to match but surprising amount of acid and balance. Drink now or hold a few more years. — 10 years ago

Incredible power and intensity. A more difficult food match than I remember from last tasting. Complex and rich. — 5 years ago
