Stellar Pinot with lots of fruit and acidity. Mild color change to light red tones. I was impressed with the body and depth of the wine. Decanted two hours before and it could have used a bit more time. Elegant and structured and it left a definite palate impression after consumption. The comic sans MS master of Mercurey does it again. His 14’s absolutely thrash. Hugely expressive nose. Big cherry, lipstick like intensity, lovely sous bois, such purity to the aromas. Cherry flower. Just pungent aromas. Juicy and complex with sour tangy mid season cherries and dazzling purity and freshness. Balanced and so much great acidity. Juan Antonio Ponce stands alone as the leader of the Manchuela DO and the master of the region’s indigenous Bobal grape. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, spice and earthy notes.
