Pretty notes of cranberry, red cherry and lemon zest fruit are accented with a touch of chalky minerality and lees. Palate shows the elegant side of Rose from Ambonnay with combo of red Pinot and citrus fruit. The palate gains richness and texture wit air. Bright mineral driven finish with a leesy edge.

Lightly perfumed, and slight lemongrass. Lean. Like if Gwenyth Paltrow were a champagne? — 3 years ago

Special wines for a special occasion! Happy anniversary to my beloved partner in wine!
Initially a bit closed and was thrown off but after about 5mins in the glass the intensity picked up notably. Pears, apples, hint of honey followed by balanced acidity that complement the nose and palate. Kept picking up volume with every glass. — 5 years ago
I’m between 92-93 here. I bought this at the same time as the Marguet Shaman 17 I opened two weeks ago and wanted to try them fairly close together for comparison sake (both are grower, zero dosage), and the V&S wins (more body/richness).
Jan’21 disgorgement. Gold in the glass. I’m not a fan of decanting champagne, but I do love drinking champagne from wider bowl glasses to air them out gently, which this benefitted from. Doesn’t have that really brisk Carmex aromatic I get with many lean grower champagnes. It sports a gently oxidative flair with golden pear, red apple, and honey roasted cashews. The palate has a distinct bakers yeast note along with classical chalky limestone too. It was a match made in Heaven with lobster corndogs! Will purchase again. — 2 years ago
This is delightful wine to just sip and enjoy. Hints of barrel spice to lift the strawberry and red cherry fruit fruit notes then a beam of chalk and warm stones. Vibrant but rich palate with red fruit mingled with lemon curd notes. Long mineral based finish that gets more focused with aeration. — 3 years ago
Delicate. Stone fruit on the nose and palate. Unripe red berry. Sandpapery texture on the roof of the mouth. — 4 years ago
Crisp, medium gold. Just a bit of sulfur on the nose. Ripe apple, core, peel, seeds and all. Medium weight and dragging a bit of green stem with it. Good… but not great. A bit clunky and not very elegant. Hoping my second choice for NYE shows a bit better. — a year ago
Pop and pour yesterday. Disg 09/2016. This btl is absolutely stunning. On the nose: dense citrus and cranberry, soft vanilla, a hint of nuttiness. On the palate: fantastic acidity, hazelnut, lemon, cranberry, melon, vanilla, amazing density and a long juicy finish. The previous btls were just young I guess. In a great place now. — 2 years ago
