Another slam dunk from Alsace! Liquid gold from the great -15 vintage. Nose is oily and full of liquorice, fennel, lots of tropical fruits, and chalkywet minerals; on the palate the wine is equally oily, fruity, robust, peppery and with a high-octane finish. This wine is a real treat! Marcel Deiss a magician - always an experience to discover how the Alsace wine will show itself, as the winegrower mixes the grapes. This wine had a lovely golden colour and a refreshing smell with a dominant apricot smell, just an impression of honey. Excellent balance. Off-dry. Interesting. — 9 years ago
Fruit forward, but not offensively sweet. Pear, lychee and honey crisp apples, with passion fruit on the aftertaste. Smooth and delightfully easy to drink. — 10 years ago

Dried dirt and a touch of mushroom jump out of the glass immediately. Pomegranate and mulled cranberry with a bit of barnyard and potpourri. The tannins are still there, but acidity is more present. The tartness from the red fruit comes through on the palate with dried dirt, tree bark, and umami. This is definitely mid-morph. Maybe 3 more years would benefit this wine greatly.
