Lovely medium body, snappy acidity, cranberry notes. Fit for lions — 7 years ago
Very crisp for a red and aromatic from the get go. Does not need decanting and ready to drink. — 7 years ago
2014 very nice — 7 years ago
Honeysuckle, ripe stone fruit, honey. Great wine to chill and drink without food. — 8 years ago

Very delicious, toasted caramel and rich porter-like flavour. Hard to place what else I'm tasting but this robust ale is unique and a seasonal treat. — 10 years ago
Love this Viognier blend! The Chardonnay cuts the sweetness and adds a lot. 2nd favorite wine. — 10 years ago
Long day at the zoo! Saw the (Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike) camels. Along with Giant Pandas. White lions. And all other zoo animals... — 11 years ago
BSR don’t come to the African bush without it. Just like American Express, don’t leave home without it. Missed it!
All my previous notes apply.
Photos of, the nearly 20 Lions we found on our afternoon game drive. Three Males (one of them featured with the big yawn) four Lionesses and 12 or 13 Cubs, the completion of seeing the “Big Five” experience with this Buffalo on our morning game drive and most of the Lion pride laying in the sand awaiting the evening hunt.
9.3 on the BSR and a perfect 10 on our game drives.
@Severn Goodwin This ones for you! 🤣 Cheers! — 5 years ago
Pears and apples and lemons and vanilla and lions and tigers and bears, oh my. Dry and delicious. I highly recommend.
This wine is made down the way from my childhood home and for that reason I am semi-biased. They have a lovely little tasting room with a beautiful porch looking out onto some of the vines and a pond. They also have a wonderful summer concert series featuring a picnic on the lawn, wine, and well-paired music.
I don’t mean to sound like a walking, talking billboard — but I’m all about supporting small town businesses and these guys really deserve it. I honestly love what they’ve done and what they’ve been producing. (I also previously rated this but on site) — 6 years ago

Seven Lions with Lisa. Went well with steak tartare and cream of potato soup. Not great with mussles in white wine — 9 years ago
Light, great with Chinese food. — 9 years ago
1986. Day 1 was charming out of the gate, then ultimately showed its oak and structure and a sort of pine quality. Preferred Haut-Batailley. Day 2 had sufficiently mellowed but still felt a little down the middle somehow. Cool side by side — 10 years ago
Lions mane mushroom nose, balanced acid plum skin Italian oh yes — 11 years ago
The '06 K Vintners Syrah 'Motor City Kitty' is an opaque purple/black full-bodied wine. Expressive and succulent aromas of smoked meats, roasted spice, blackberry and black cherry jump from the glass. Some flowery and tarry notes are evident on the lengthy finish. I just need to find out what Charles Smith's connection with Detroit, the Motor City, is all about. Is it the Tigers, the Lions, or an old girlfriend? — 11 years ago

The 1988 d'Yquem is almost identical to the bottle I tasted in 2016. This is almost Barsac-like in style on the nose with scents of barley sugar, complemented by marmalade and mandarin, fresh and vibrant with a palpable sense of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous texture but it is not, and has never been, as unctuous as either the 1989 or 1990. However, what the 1988 does possess is a surfeit of vitality and tension. There are layers of blood orange, quince and marmalade towards the finish that as the aromatics suggest, comes across as quite Barsac in style. Superb. Tasted at Château Batailley. Coeur from Hall is not the best Cab they produce. The lions share of Hall wines are spectacular. 95+. The Coeur is a bit tight on the tannins but loaded with berries on the front and had a nice long finish. Needs a few years in the bottle to soften the tannins. Vintage 2012. — 9 years ago
Vanilla butter and olive oil on the nose this is a fantastic wine for the price point. Tart red fruit on the tongue Plum and dry black fig on the finish. Pretty big. — 9 years ago
