Great fruit even at this age. The only issue I had besides the slight bell pepper is how rough the tannins were and the coconut on the nose. American oak? Not something i’d think Roy would use. — 8 months ago
Agreed with others. This is top-notch Morton with marathon-level legs. — 10 months ago
Apple that had begun to rot in the cider bin (in a good way!) minerals and balanced oak integration. A very long and complex finish. — 5 years ago
Too bad that more people have discovered the wines of Sylvain Pataille. Still well priced but more competitive to buy them. — 5 months ago
A little farmyardy on opening, but still some pleasure in this forgotten oldie from the cellar when it opened up… — 8 months ago
book ends $55 soo goood — 10 months ago
Flash tasting; no formal notes. The 2018 “Clos du Roy” is a light ruby and showing deeper, darker fruit and more structure than the 2019 “Clos de Chênes” (as it should). Balanced. The finish is also longer and slightly more powerful than the Volnay. Better after 2028 — 2 years ago
Enjoyable drop and well balanced — 7 years ago
Pours a lovely golden color, pineapple nose, smooth on the palate before a tingle comes in that lingers, good level of butteriness with a lighter finish. Yum! — 7 years ago
17 Very Meursault, not outstanding. Vintage? — 6 months ago
Still showing a lot of tannic and acidic structure, but enough fruit to keep it in check once it had a few hours of air, youthful still, and brawny. — a year ago
Mild smooth and dry — 6 years ago
Stunner. Deep blackberry. Smooth tannin. Goes well with H. Upmann Magnum 56 Habanos. — 7 years ago

Very perfumed with a touch of spice. On the palate there wasn’t much to it. Lacking depth or complexity yet it did have a pretty long finish. — 4 months ago
