Velvety smooth, stone fruit and hint of fig. This Zin could age more time, but it’s a solid one I’d get again. — 7 years ago

I loved a wine, but it wasn't favored amongst other folks. Lots of vanilla and oak. Full bodied and dry. Love this! Would probably pair nicely with steak or ribs. — 8 years ago
One of the best Malbec in this price range. — 9 years ago

Tasty!! Sweet, very slightly dry, strong cherry notes, with a touch of cranberry, cardamom, and vanilla. The nose is extremely pleasant, full of cherry and oak. Very, very nice — 10 years ago

First winery on day two in Sonoma was Donelan Family Wines in Santa Rosa with Meredith. The last Rhone varietal red was the Walker Vine Hill Syrah. Sadly we were told that this was the last vintage that will be produced. This bottling is made up of 100% Syrah and is around 40-50% whole cluster fermented then aged for 20 months in 25% new French oak. 1,025 cases produced.
Insanely dark and inky purplish ruby red, completely coats the glass. Dark berries on the start of the nose followed up by cinnamon, cocoa, blueberries and some dustiness. Medium plus tannins (7/10) with a full body. Rich and layered palate with red currants, red plums, even a touch of blue fruits and some solid minerality. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2028. $$$ - Tasted at the winery. Retail price is $75.00. — 8 years ago

Very nice flavor with strong fruit but not overwhelming. Little bit of spice, but fairly good balance overall slightly biased towards fruit side. Finish is medium long but not very tannic or acidic — 8 years ago
I drank this after using an aerator. Immediately scent of braised beef and fresh rubber on the nose. Meaty flavor on the way down. Truly is best wine under $5 at TJ's — 9 years ago
Smooth, with a rich finish. Goes well with the more hearty foods of fall. Very unexpected for the money. A really good wine. — 10 years ago
One of my all time favourite wines, we had this on our Alaska cruise. Fruity, blackberry, chocolate, toffee. We just loved it. — 10 years ago
13% alc.
3 barrels made. $35/btl.
From AR note sheet:
"61 year old dry-farmed white field blend of Sylvaner, Riesling and an assortment of other obscure varieties planted in fluffy white volcanic soils at the base of the western flank of Mount Veeder in the Sonoma Valley. Whole cluster pressed, fermented with native yeast in stainless steel, and aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months." — 10 years ago

Hints of fruit - finishes dry. Very good. — 7 years ago
Excellent typical example of good Aussie Grenache. First impression is 'red Clare Riesling'. Clean with ripe red fruit (strawberry fruit roll-out). White pepper with a little heart. Best with a little chill. #blindtasting #australianwinetasting #yangarra #Grenache — 8 years ago
My first Zinfandel experience. Fruit forward and heady alcohol hit. Balanced tannin and acidity with just a hint of sweetness. Fun to drink! — 8 years ago
Well balanced, hint of Smokey and spices. Any BBQ dish would match perfectly! — 9 years ago
Lots of flavors. Great nose. — 9 years ago
Immediate aroma of plums. Initial bust of dark cherries. An incredible find for the price. — 10 years ago
Tannins tannins tannins. A hint of cocoa, almost overpowered by oak. Paired with a delicious brisket via Meadow Haven Farm. Thanks for the pairing rec @Aaron Rankin

Full-bodied and fruit-forward without the syrupy sweetness of most inexpensive California zins. Great $11 beach wine and even better at home for $8.50 at Total Wine! — 11 years ago
The third PCV wine opened the night of my birthday. This Zin is dense rich and sweet fruit with a bit of soft tannin. One of my favorite PCV zins. But getting old. — 13 years ago
