Day one and minimal aeration I got a bit of balsamic on the nose and pallet. It seemed like peak may have passed. Still quite drinkable. Day 3 aeration (using the suction preserver) and the flavor is leaps and bounds better. Nose of earth and red berries, maybe even raspberry. Pallet is smooth (no tart or bitter flavor), more earth, silky tannins and more red berries. Not a thick Cab beast, but pretty, floral, and impressed with the turnaround. — 9 years ago
My love for Krug knows no bounds. Bready, yeasty notes jump out of the glass towards you but quickly soften into those of honey butter. Ginger and spice notes. Lees driven but well integrated with medium high acid. This champagne is so complex that it's almost impossible to truly detect where one note of flavor ends and the other begins. — 10 years ago
Very tasteful. First Artemis Stag Leaps. Decanting is even better.
Deep berry flavor

Dry, great acidity and minerality. Leaps off of the tongue. One of my favorite rieslings. — 11 years ago
These 70's Stag Leaps will be gone forever soon. God they are good. — 11 years ago
flavors of cherry pie, anise, clove, dried orange peel, ripe black cherries, bit of wood
tastes like dried orange, anise, strawberry, cherry puree, clove, a little earth and cedar. this leaps into your mouth... the old spice and fresh cherry are all held in a wonderfully fresh lively body. — 9 years ago
Leaps out of the glass with flowers, an almost kirsch-like red cherry, granite, a tinge of funk, and an intoxicating mix of herbs and spices. Like a field of wildflowers that's been dusted with cinnamon, star anise, and clove. Melds together over time into a sexy perfume that would be unmistakable if I came across it decades from now. Everything translates through to the palate in a juicy and lively celebration. Relative to Gamay, or Beaujolais in general, this has weight and length in spades. I wish I hadn't waited until this vintage to try this producer. If there's better Gamay I'm sure I won't find it because I'll be too busy drinking this. — 9 years ago
On a big #Sicily kick of late, this is a step or two up from yesterday in complexity and class. Another steal at $22-25 this is also a blend of Nero di Avola and Frappato. The nose started out reduced, but the palate was clean. The nose grew leaps and bounds after an hour to a fresh mix of red fruit perfume ala Burgundy, fresh cut flowers, and a little wet stone funk. The palate is light as a feather, fresh and consistent with bursts of blood orange, cherry, subtle spice. The finish streams on with excellent acidity and fine, though quite firm, youthful tannin.

2013 Gilles Berlioz Vin de Savoie Chignin Bergeron "Les Fripons." Same plot as mon ami. This is facing SE. Ridiculous nose again. Honeyed. Yellow fruits. Mineral. Leaps out of the glass. Wonderful. So Roussanne. Textured and riper than mon ami. Less acidity but makes up for it with striking texture. Wonderful again. — 11 years ago
Kastanienbusch. Wow. A unique wine. Just an explosion. Just leaps out of the Glass. Huge concentration of citrus. Great minerality on the palate and long mineral citrus finish. Adheres to the palate. Must try for dry Riesling lovers. — 11 years ago
What a delight! This is a fantastic Rosé. Coral pink colour. The nose is fragrant and beautiful and leaps out of the glass with cherry and strawberry. Beautiful mousse. For a non dosage 0g/L this is surprisingly balanced. Complex mouth of redcurrant and raspberry. Strong vinosity. Super long finish. 85ch, 15pn. Just gorgeous!!! — 9 years ago
Beautiful elegant wine. Long finish. Bouquet leaps out of glass. — 10 years ago
Gorgeous California Chardonnay. Oak leaps out of the glass with hints of peach and apricot. Mouthfeel is smooth and clean - pear and butter. Finishes with just the right amount of acidity and a palate that lingers reminiscent of lemon custard. Let it breathe and warm up, too (freezing cold Chard is such a travesty). The ABV is high on this one, but you wouldn't know it. Definitely a treat!! — 11 years ago
One of our favorite wines but some of our favorite people. Brand started off with a bang in 09 and has been taking giant leaps since. Some real deal juice right here! — 11 years ago

Wow, a really classy Central Otago Pinot, such good balance between wood and fruit, nothing leaps out to disturb the balance. Thanks to Linda at Yalumba H/O — 9 years ago
