On draft, Winking Lizard, Macedonia, OH. "Hearty" porter. Very tasty! High ABV but the alcohol flavor does not dominate like some at this level. — 9 years ago
Delicious little rosé for the end of summer. Med body with lots of red fruit leaping out the glass. Medium acid but a delicious glass, went nicely with spicy brined chicken off the grill. — 10 years ago
Let's begin with one word: FRAGRANCE. Just back from Italia, I will posit that this deep-garnet siren is just about the essence of that famed land on ones nostrils. My olfactory is pleased, greets this cuvee: *ciao*. We get right to business, where smelling is concerned: how very red tea of you, Amore. How very cinar-esque you smell today. Is that chanterelle on your breath, cracked black pepper in your hair, gravel crunching warmly under your feet? Thought so, certo. Moving right along, we address that thing essential to all dancers, composers and clothiers: STRUCTURE. Yours is on the delicious knife-edge of acidic to too-acidic, tannic to too-tannic, in both cases falling on the right side of the blade. Your alcohol level is just warm enough, not hot, and your finish is somehow cool and lingering. You are a cool cat, balanced and self assured. But wait: there's more, because we didn't talk abt your other PERFUMES leaping from the glass and traveling lovingly to my olfactory: brown spice, astronaut strawberry, cranberry, purple flower. DOLCE & GABBANA/ we have, at last, your newest fragrance: La Dolce Susumaniello. Carry on! 🇮🇹 — 10 years ago
Wow. Leaping out of the glass forward. Portuguese sausage and hay. Great fine tannins with a delicate line of acidity. Sweet hay. Dusky summer evening. — 10 years ago

Angel, bear, lizard ... interesting. Light, fruity, acidic. Black pepper on the nose. — 9 years ago
Giant blackberry/black cherry nose with peppercorn and soft smoke, cinnamon coated truffle, rosemary, asphalt-like pa-hoi-hoi. Black olive into blackberry with silky tannins and a ton of depth. Lick the rocks until you expose the silky blackberry magic. Washington leads the way again! Terroir and fruit in perfect interplay. Not for lizard people! — 9 years ago
The nose on this one is a stunner, leaping out of the glass like a Cab Franc with potpourri, barnyard, earth, coriander, dried flowers, minerals, limestone, chalk, and pomegranate fruit. The body is medium with copious mineral accents to its modest sour cherry fruit profile complemented by good acidity. Savory tomato leaf on the front of the palate. Dry overall. A fragrant and delicious perfumed Italian with unexpectedly mineral-driven structure. The finish is medium but not terribly exciting - mostly tannic stemminess. Still very tasty overall. — 10 years ago
Superb. This is why I like wine. Like walking into a vegetable garden when you stick ya nose in. Herbaceous and minerally with leaping currant fruit and juicy raspberries. Oak provides an oozing finish. Just a bit of funk but in a tactful manner like Mark Ronson. Acidity gives nice skeleton. — 10 years ago

I remember 1st time reading the wine note , I 'm confused by all these words such as linden flower ,gooseberry,genet,locust.... Growing up in Asia,I am not familiar with so many fruits or woods I 've never seen in supermarket, I thought a wine note should be able to reduce the complexity of the tasting of wine , not the other way around. I could not find a way to resolve this till I meet this wine. When I taste cask23 , after a sip of of FAY, another sip of S.L.V and sips of some white, I felt like finally I meet the goddess. If FAY is a fair lady, SLV is a leaping stag or elf, Cask 23 is the godness. I could not find a other word to describe this wine characteristics overall , not by naming it after fruits, the complexity, elegancy, as well as amazing glimpse, everything makes her a prefect lady. A real goddess beats Old world wine in 1976 XD💪💃💃🎈👍😄 — 10 years ago
Spicy blackberry aroma. Slightly citric taste. Dry with enough tannins that seems like it could still be good in several years. — 10 years ago

Stellar! Entire kitchen smells of an open jar of blackberry preserves, molten black fruit cobbler, spring flowers-decadent aromas leaping from the glass. Full bodied, classic Howell Mountain-low acid with graphite, deep rich blueberry, black currant and truffle. Supple, yet fat and juicy in the mouth. 30+ sec finish of creme de cassis and smoke meat round out this moderately extracted rich wine. Thanks for the inspiration @Jim Trobaugh — 8 years ago
