Never really listened to Magma but this is cool — 8 years ago
Black cherry, earth funk but brought and fruity. Great balance and acidity. Fun and interesting but also something I could drink regularly. Awesome baby bandol! — 9 years ago
Vigneron Select 2014 vintage — 10 years ago
Easily one of the better incarnations of this wine, the 2015 Sky is drinking really well. I think (but am not 100% certain) that by this vintage Greg Brewer had moved from Melville to John Hilliard’s operation just down the road on Route 246. Has many of the same characteristics you’d expect from a St Rita Hills pinot - beautiful bright strawberry-laced fruit, a bit of earth and spice, all wrapped together in a wine with a seamless mouthfeel. Very sad that life circumstances compelled John and his wife to shut HB down, but this wine is a terrific reflection of what they achieved in a very short space of time. Cheers! — 6 years ago

dried rose petals, strawberry, earth — 6 years ago
Have posted previous tasting notes on this wine and vintage. Owned by Melbourne barrister Greg Melick. A couple of years ago I remember banter between @TheSkip and @Bill Bender about the name. If Bill ever becomes a winemaker he can’t take Pressing Matters as already spoken for. This was a stellar Riesling, one of the best for a while. Mid Lemon in colour with absolute clarity. Lime and Lemon flavours with plenty of acidity. Incredible intensity. A beautiful dry Riesling from the Coal River in Tasmania, cruising at 12 years with more life ahead. Traces of paraffin/kerosene on the nose. — 7 years ago
Red fruit with bright acidity and earth/mineral notes — 8 years ago
More gamay-ish in terms of flavor profile, but a great mix of funk and fruit all wrapped into a fun bottle. — 9 years ago
A mild sauv blanc with a delightful flavour. Less acid than Kim or other SB from the region, but this is likely my new favourite Sauv. — 10 years ago
