Cheval des Andes tasting with their technical manager who is also an assistant winemaker. Tasted ‘05, ‘07, ‘14 and ‘15. Very cool story behind this winery (and its affiliation with Chateau Cheval Blanc).
This contained the largest percentage of Malbec they’ve ever used at 83%, rounded out by petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Decidedly darker and more dense on the mid palate than the ‘15. The texture was more plush and this seems to be open for business now...not sure it has the structure to hold as long as the ‘15. More plum, added black currant and licorice. — 7 years ago

We had the 2015,2016 and 2000 at the Chateau. They are all exceptional and worth every penny! — 9 years ago
Bold fruit with a smooth finish, purchased at the winery.

A surprise stunner. Incredible depth of complexity that shows itself as this deep colored rich but not overbearing Pinot noir breathes.
It’s my pick for this week’s well valued - with just enough intrigue, complexity, and fancy — to keep it in your thoughts winner. — 5 years ago
There is an irony thing in the nose along with violet and rose petals and cherry and a bit of black pepper. This is the nose I fell in love with 10 years ago. The palate is very well designed with a strong acid backbone, a very nice round and radiating fruit, a bit of a sweet touch, some nice oily, scratchy tannins which kick things up for a rather long finish with that fruit, pepper and a long lasting floral aftertaste. So great. This is 7 Euro when you buy it from the winery directly and it's 15 kilometers from where I am right now 😍 — 6 years ago

Manuela Z tasted 2011 vintage Amore & Follia Super Tuscan on 2017 December 06. Biodynamic winery from the Illy scion. Bold, structured, chewy, very drinkable, will impress guests without breaking the bank. — 8 years ago

Enjoyed this one a while back, but was a favorite! — 5 years ago
Beautifully aged, direct from the winery. Still fresh and vibrant, decades of potential maturing ahead. Aromas of ripe plum, red currant, raspberry and cherries. Even crunchy cranberry. Dried roses and savory herbs, leather and earth. Verite is one of my absolute favorite domestic Cabernet producers! — 5 years ago

Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: Medium-plus body. Bold flavors. Fine tannins. Dark fruits. Blackberry. Cherry. Plum. Vanilla. Oak. Smooth, soft finish. For me, this is a must-try iconic Napa Valley winery and an almost perfect example of a Napa Cab. Such great depth & balance for such a young wine. Paired this beauty with a grilled ribeye steak & all the fixings. Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
