A clear shimmering gold color in glass with vivacious tiny bubbles that go on and on. Very pretty and stately in appearance. An absolute burst of orchard fruits on the nose with pears and peaches. A touch of grapefruit with a dab of honey. These floral notes are a bit enchanting and delicate. Hazelnuts and green apples abound the longer it grows in the glass.
When I think of Cédric Moussé, I automatically think of Meunier, as he is one of the Masters of Meunier. This Blanc de Blancs comes from plots in Cuisles and Jonquery originally planted with Pinot Meunier. Disgorged in 2019 with an Extra Brut of 2 g/l, this thing sings and is so delicious. The acidity is zesty and the structure is well balanced. Full of life and power.
The palate is charming from first sip to the last. Mirroring the nose, those pears and peaches tantalize while yeast makes you smile. Very mineral driven and plenty of chalky goodness. Apples become dominant as times goes on. The finish has nice length with some unexpected white pepper. A unique entry in the Moussé portfolio and it most definitely belongs. — 3 years ago

Pop and pour. A bit under a year since my last btl. May 2016 lot, Aug 2019 disg. 5 g/L dosage. On the nose: lemon, baked apple with a touch of butter. On the palate: soft mousse, lovely meyer lemon and apple. Fantastic density and acidity. Crisp, yet good weight. Still young, but very yummy. — 3 years ago
NV | 90% Chardonnay 10% Pinot Noir Dosage 5g/L comes from the vineyards in d’Avenay, Coligny, Vauciennes, Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry. 25% fûts de chêne. Bottled may 2018, degorgement august 2020. Very true to type champagne with lovely acidity, tension and balance. — 4 years ago
Well they’ve done it again. Who is they? Why Cédric Moussé and the Club Trésors de Champagne of course. Another superstar bottle from them.
A muted pale lemon color with an effusive stream of tiny bubbles. Aromas of honeyed almonds, peaches, and crushed herbs. Fresh cherries and apricots sparkle here. Toasty brioche bread and chalky minerality show after some time with green apples being quite dominant after receiving some air.
The Master of Meunier and here it shows. 100% Pinot Meunier from the village of Cuisles located in the Vallee de la Marne. This Special Club offering is from one plot of land, giving it its name, Les Fortes Terres. Disgorged on 10/21/19 with a dosage of 1 g/l, this is refreshingly stark with beautifully racy acidity.
Full bodied and bold on palate, the complexity and purity of the Meunier shines through. Butterscotch and apples start the party off with more cherries and citrus playing along. A nice long, dry finish. Vibrant and captivating. Moussé and Special Club champagnes never disappoint. — 4 years ago
Slightly savory, lemon curd, salinity, sea spray, green apple, pear, lean with subtle toast almond, sour dough, mouse bubbles and racy acidity. Med plus to long finish. What a beautiful neat champagne could go with almost everything. — 7 years ago
Still the best value in NV Chardonnay Grand Cru Champagne. So delicious! If you haven’t had it, K&L just got in another shipment of Launois. They have in stock two of Grand Crus and 08 Special Club. Get it in the next coupe or three days before it’s gone. You’ll thank me when you have it. — 8 years ago
Pale lemon in the glass with very active perlage initially. The nose is tremendous with apple butter and fresh baked bread smeared with honey. Green apples and cherries abound along with fresh herbs.
Pure Meunier from the village of Cuisles. These Moussé champagnes are always a distinct treat and easily some of the best on the market. Plus acidity and major plus on the character. Really nice tension and drama here. Dry with much finesse, 4 g/l dosage and disgorged in mid 2016.
Electric on the tongue, this is just coursing energy. Lively and bold, this is a very pure wine with terrific length. A nice bit of citrus on the palate with more apples coming to play. Captivating stuff. As ever. — 3 years ago
Tasty French white from Chapman tasty. Not a typical Chardonnay. — 4 years ago
It is only for variety that I drink any other N/V Blanc de Blanc Grand Gru Champange. For just under $45, this is extremely hard to beat.
This is my style, primarily reductive with just the right amount of oxidative characteristics.
The nose is fresh & ripe with green & golden apple, very, ripe pineapple, mango, ripe green melon, lemon & lime zest, excellent white spice, cream brulee w/ burnt top, light, salted caramel, touch of fresh herbs, pronounced chalkiness, grey volcanics, sea fossils, saline, bread dough, baguette crust, limestone with spring flowers, yellow lilies and jasmine.
The palate is ripe, lush, lively & dazzling fresh. Shows gentle, beautiful mousse & micro oxygenation. Ripe with green & golden apple, very, ripe pineapple, mango, ripe green melon, lemon & lime zest, kiwi, grapefruit w/ a hint of sugar, white peach, honeycomb, excellent white spice with just the right even medium heat, cream brulee w/ burnt top, bruised Bosc pear, lemon meringue, vanilla bean, light, salted caramel, nougat, silvered almonds, touch of fresh herbs, pronounced chalkiness, grippy grey volcanics, sea fossils, saline, bread dough, baguette crust, limestone with spring flowers, yellow lilies and jasmine. The acidity is lively & simply perfect. The long, rich, well polished & balanced, finishes gently & persistently on the palate with soft spice in the long set.
If you can receive wine shipments from K&L Wine Merchants in SF, you owe it to yourself to order some bottles of this cuvée. They are the only retailer in the US Launois allows to rep their cuvées. Guarantee you won’t regret it.
Wine that bridges the palate from the end of white cheeses to vinaigrette salad.

Love this!! Disgorged Spring 2021, Extra Brut. 3g/L, lower pressure, more wine like. I visited them a year ago. What a great small producer! — 2 years ago
