Damn this is really coming around, seems to have settled in since LBT. More clarity, more definition and high-toned perfume. Definitely has gained more cohesiveness and length on the palate too. Explosive ripe/just kissing the jam side of things fruit; blackberry, huckleberry, hint of blueberry, and apricots. Loads of sweet licorice and powdered sugar, sweet cinnamon, violet pastille, rosemary blossom, candied olives, baked stones, sweet meat. Feel like this really starting to express ‘15 vintage character too — 7 years ago
Pairing tip; Beautiful and amazing people go well with great wine. This 2014 is singing perfectly right now, however will continue to evolve nicely with some additional age. Racy, fresh, and vibrant. Green apple skin, citrus, chalk, and oyster shells. A clean salinity carries loads of minerals, citrus blossoms, and some unripe nectarine. And that acidity! This is alive and electrifying; like French kissing a 220 volt outlet. Lightning in a bottle. Sort of like the wonderful, exciting people in the picture. ⚡️ Popping a Raveneau is great, but sharing it with my friends was lightning across the mid-summer night sky. — 7 years ago
Probably would have guessed a cab franc - quite vegetal and green peppery. Not a jammy overextracted cab at all. Quite nice. — 8 years ago
Sooooo simple yet with interesting complexity. Easy to drink but like you want to keep kissing it. Fruit nose and a touch of blue cheese on the finish. Yummmmmm — 8 years ago
When this wine hits your lips, it's like kissing and angel! I feel so blessed to have tasted a gift from the Gods. The winemaker is amazing, but the age is the game changer. Incredible. Smooth, elegant, sexy. — 9 years ago
Happy birthday to my wife Sofia! She wanted to go have a birthday lunch in Big Sur at Nepenthe. With these views, who wouldn’t want to go celebrate there? Great vistas, good food and an even better wine list. Krug by the glass and so much more! Good warm up for lunch.
It’s a combination of reductive and oxidized style on the nose. Bruised apple, bruised Bosc pear, well overripe pineapple, marmalade, touch of caramel, creamed cider, understated honey notes, chalkiness, seashells, some oysters, volcanic minerals w/ fruit blossoms & withering yellow lilies.
The palate shows more reductive style than oxidized. Less pronounced bruised apple, bruised Bosc pear, well overripe pineapple, white citrus, marmalade, touch caramel, creamed soda, apple cider, understated honey notes, chalkiness, seashells, some oysters, volcanic minerals with fruit blossoms & withering yellow lilies. The acidy is quite nice. Very good; structure, length & balance. The long, beautiful, rich, finish is just what you’d expect from Krug.
Photos of, the outdoor bar with that view, whew, Nepenthe pumpkin, with the cell tower signal so bad & no wi-fi, they need a antique phone booth and the outdoor lounge/waiting area, complete with a ping pong table.

Salty like kissing a dog. BlackBerry. High acid. Tight. Structured. Good for aging? — 8 years ago
Tasted blind with the 2015 Patz & Hall Gap's Crown Pinot Noir and 2014 Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
Medium garnet red with a darker core. Layered and complex nose with some elegant floral and spiced notes. A bit earthy, bark, herbal and a touch savory too. Light tannins (4/10) and high acidity (7/10). Burgundian in style, with a slight new world Pinot twist. Beautiful palate with spices, white pepper, and red berries. Medium body and log dry finish. Drink till 2023. — 9 years ago

The MoM group had a rather large line-up of bottles this week, nearly a dozen strong, and not a dud in the lineup. That being said, this was one of three bottles that rose to the top. This arguably had the most interesting and enjoyable nose. A serious wine that would compliment a variety of meals. Impressive. — 7 years ago
Beautiful dark purple color in the glass. Soft luscious dark fruit on the nose, lots of blackberries, ripe plums, and red licorice. Very balanced on the palate, a hint of dark red fruit, and just slightly noticeable soft tannins. Very lush lingering finish. — 7 years ago
This was a big complex wine. Enjoyed with stroganoff. Couldn’t verify that I had the 2013. — 8 years ago

Nicely unfiltered and raw. A touch sweet but refreshing and mouth watering at the same time. Freshly bruised fruit. As nigoris go, this is the sound an Italian chef makes when kissing their fingers. — 6 years ago
