White peach and mango are wreathed in heliotrope and honeysuckle, accompanied by a hazy hint of yeastiness and fermentative “stink” familiar from youthful wines at this address. The midpalate impression frees itself entirely from any haziness, delivering floral profusion and a luscious abundance of fruit utterly transparent to stony, smoky and mouthwateringly marine nuances. “It seems to be a particularly good year for Zeltinger,” observed Katharina Prüm, noting that this particular wine made significant qualitative strides in its first nine months. Lightly sparkly. Very refreshing. Drink very cold. Great taste of citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and green apple. A perfect Riesling like wine. Perfect fruity balance which makes the wine very easy to drink (danger). Great for summer. Found in a rarewine store in le marais Paris. Very hard to find. If you can get your hands on this, don't hesitate — 8 years ago

Had higher expectations. Nevertheless, it's solid. Comes from Katharina's monopole at the edge of Aulerde (10%?). Cool 50 year-old vines. Mineral and powerful, but I was definitely craving more tension from the wine. Perhaps more a site specific thing - I found the same notes with Wittman's Aulerde on various occasions, and KP does not regard any of his holdings there as GG worthy (although this too isn't a GG, but you get the point). Alcohol and phenolics are a little obvious too at the moment, but that's just nitpicking. Still... a good wine. — 8 years ago
