2012 Sine Qua Non Touché Estate Syrah. Pairing well with Gail’s Tie dye designs (tiedyebygail.com). Amazing Syrah for the actual birthday meal at Ca Bianca in Santa Rosa. We really needed this vacation after working the Pacific Dream Machines show with her tie dye vendor booth. Best winery visits were Kamen, b-wise, and Mumm. After two nights of Granache, gobsmacked by this Syrah. — a year ago

Deep purple, opaque in the center; thick wine with heavy heavy legs, good amount of sediment that stained my hands purple when I removed the cork. The aroma on the nose is intoxicating - it pulls you in with deep berry and cherry notes, then dried fruit and baking spices giving it a fruit cake like quality; further still are subtle notes of bell pepper cedar and tobacco. On the palette is reminds me tomatoes and cherries roasted over cedar with cinnamon. — 4 years ago
