Sherry nose, not so much on the palate. Briny. Really opened up after time in the glass. Very interesting and varied with food. Long finish. Sort of beyond me to describe the flavor profile. Don't think I'd pay for it again on its own tho — 8 years ago
Light red, easy light bodied pinot noir. Easy to drink on its own or with light cheeses and BBQ — 9 years ago
Sacred Thirst tasting. New to Ploussard on its own. This is a summer red and charcuterie wine. — 9 years ago
Solid single malt scotch. Chocolate flavor. Smooth. — 9 years ago
Almost orange color, great with food or on its own, paired well with a glazed ham. Very yummy. — 9 years ago
Easy to drink. Better with food than on it's own. Slightly tart. — 7 years ago
Rad Jura bubbles. Pours an almost rosé-like copper-tinged gold. This is actually 55% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 5% Poulsard and 5% Trousseau. Fresh red apples, flaky pastry autolytic tones, crushed chalk, cherry blossom, underripe cranberry, and a subtle oxidative nuttiness that reminds one of pecans. Absolutely kickin' acid with low dosage as indicated by the Extra Brut designation. Medium (-) body with a creamy texture offered by the bubbles, which are almost a bit too aggressive upon first pouring but settle down nicely after a couple minutes in the glass. A wonderful alternative to Champagne while still having an identity all its own. — 8 years ago

Another rare creature from Forlorn Hope. Matthew never disappoints. This is 100% Trousseau Noir from Matthew's own Rorick Vineyard in the Sierra Foothills. Like the Jura with some extra California sunshine. Juicy with a little funk and a little herbaceousness. Pours a pale copper-inflected ruby. Nose of pomegranate and blood orange peel, Campari, fennel seed, crushed granite, a rose-y floral character, and guava. Perhaps the slightest hint of brett? But not at all distracting. Palate echoes the nose pretty congruently, still pomegranate and blood orange predominating with a little more spice and mineral focus. Light bodied, medium (+) acid, and just a tiny touch of soft tannin. If you were insistent on having a red wine as an aperitif, I can't imagine one much better than this one with its herbal, slightly bitter Campari-esque edge. Drink at cellar temp. Also a great option if you want a red with a charcuterie and cheese plate. — 8 years ago
Great expression of Chardonnay. Held it's own up against the tartare played very well with the rocket greens and the grilled pain au levain. — 9 years ago
Not to drink on its own; purrfect kickoff to a garden party starring seafood — 9 years ago
#youthful #strawberry note. Very easy to. Sip on its own — 9 years ago
Okay. So this is may be my new favorite red. It's got everything I love. Just the perfect amount of funky weird grassy barnyard. It's wonderful. Just... Wonderful. I would recommend on its own or with something hearty. — 9 years ago

Super interesting, like Jura, but definitely it's own thing. — 7 years ago
