Nose is smoke on open.
Palate is good. Very bright. Cherry spice. Soft early to mid season cherries.
Let’s see how this goes.
As this opens you get a cherry cherry spice red rose swirl on the palate. Nose is graphite with a hint of lilac. Savory. Laser juiciness. Very very good.
2 hours in nose is faint red roses. Begging for coaxing. Shy and ethereal but beautiful.
Palate is silky cherries. So fresh. So good. Long juicy finish. Really vibrant. Wow.
Day 2 tomato on the nose. Palate is old cherries and spice. — 3 years ago
Medium garnet. Pronounced developing nose of spiced plum, bramble, cherries, white pepper, kirsch, hint of chocolate. Dry on the palate with medium acidity, medium+ tannin, medium alcohol and a medium+ body. Pronounced flavors and a long finish. Outstanding and likely lasts for a while longer given structure, body and complex juicy fruit character (and even higher than expected acidity) — 5 years ago
Drank over ice, wasn’t mad. Good structure. Juicy mouthfeel. — 5 years ago

why is this so good??! juicy, fruity with a spicy finish. easy to drink, had this with pepperoni pizza, goes super well. — 6 years ago
Aromatic and so pure.
Honeysuckle, peach pie, a touch of lanolin and mandarin peel. And yet - this is retrained & quite cool. Warm slate emerges.
On the palate this is impeccably balanced, so poised. Juicy, just ripe, with purity of fruit and amazing tension. Finishes off with a slightly creamy mouthfeel (very Burgundian!) and a beautiful long mineral finish.
Drinking perfectly right now. Simply delish!

Pure & bright & very juicy.
Bursting with pure, juicy cherries & blackberries, with a hint of rusticity, a touch of black yunnan tea, light & enticing.
On the palate this bursts with ripe red & black fruit, smooth & bright, with grippy light juicy tannins. Somewhere between a bright Valpolicella and light Barbera or good Bonarda. Nice mineral background and massive drinkability. — 2 years ago
Nicely aromatic with juicy fresh, crunchy red fruit, a touch of blueberry, with a hint of tobacco leaf, some green pepper and a nice mineral, earthy backdrop.
There’s a bit of good quality black leaf tea. Quite bright and so fresh.
On the palate this is cool, quite light with amazing juicy freshness. The tannins are so fine, silky, yet with proper grip. So juicy, so fresh yet with loads of savoury character. Very Burgundian yet with a darker touch. Love it! — 3 years ago
Had a bottle year ago. Blend of 95% Cab Sauv, 4% Merlot, rest Petit Verdot, Malbec & Cab Franc, blended then aged for 24 mos in 50% new & 50% once-used American oak. Deep Ruby, youthful aromas of black fruit, sweet cacao & complex spice. Palate shows flavors of rich ripe juicy berries & cherries, core of sweet fruit with oak & vanilla notes. Nicely integrated firm, graceful tannins, long finish, displays primary fruits on ending, developing some secondary aging, nice. Excellent. — 4 years ago
In the zone. Nose of bright and sour cherry, spice, cherry syrup. Ethereal and rich. Mesmerizing. Elite as usual. Really showing well at almost 8. Palate is so juicy and clean. Bursting with ripe cherries and powdery tannins. Sneaky persistence. Fruit really is pure. Amazing energy. Always masterful. — 5 years ago
Deep ruby with aromas of dark fruit, sweet spice and herbs. On the palate of this mostly Cab Sauv with a splash of Merlot, sat on French oak for 18 months (about 1/3 new), flavors of rich and juicy cherry and blackberry with savory spice and integrated toasty oak that gives this medium+ length wine a satisfying finish. Artemis should keep well for at least another 5+ years. — 5 years ago
The nose reveals; sweet & sour dark cherries, deeply, ripe & juicy strawberries, rhubarb & cranberry crossing, plum liqueur, blackberries, blueberries, candied raspberries, dark chocolate, limestone minerals, sandstone, anise to black licorice, dry, crushed rocks with blue, red, dark, fresh & withering florals with fields of violets.
The body is still firm, thick, grainy and full. The structure, tension are still tight. The length and balance are working their way into adolescence. Sweet & sour dark cherries, deeply, ripe & juicy strawberries, black raspberries, juicy, black plum, rhubarb & cranberry crossing, plum liqueur, blackberries, blueberries, candied raspberries, caramel, clove, touch of nutmeg, vanilla, dark chocolate, semi-sweet tarriness, understated herbaceousiness, limestone minerals, powdery sandstone leather, dry tobacco, saddle-wood to cedar plank, dark spice, sandstone, anise to black licorice, dry, crushed rocks with blue, red, dark, fresh & withering florals with fields of violets.
It’s still a youthful wine with another 10-15 years ahead.
