BV grapes were first planted back in 1900, by founder Georges de Latour. A blend of mostly Cab Sauv with a bit of Petit Verdot. Outstanding! Deep Ruby with complex berry fruit aromas adding in toasty floral spice. On the palate big full flavors of blackberry, cherry and sweet plum flavors with licorice and cacao, adding some cedar notes. Soft velvet tannins, young, long finish, well integrated and nicely balanced, a joy to drink. Will Benefit from long aging. — 6 years ago
A little “funkier” than I’m used to, but still smooth and easy. Not too sweet. — 7 years ago
Joy Road “Connor” is delicious fruit and vibrant. It’s a wine that makes me want to live there. — 8 years ago
1996 vintage. At Hotel TerraVina with my pal, Gerard Basset MW. Unfortunately we didn't get time to decant it sufficiently prior to having with lunch. Typically I would have had at least a 2 hour decant before serving. Medium garnet hue, very bright. The nose is simply stunning and evolved constantly in the glass. Blackberry, black plum, cedar wood, lots of spices, cocoa and hints of roasted coffee bean. Tertiary notes have developed but there still seems to be a bit of development to be teased out of this wine yet. The palate exhibited an enormous amount of structure - high acidity and high tannins that are ripe but chunky. There's nothing round here - more linear and angled than curvy. Almost light bodied but with a big two-step punch of a finish: there's an initial hit and then a powerful umph of additional rev's that makes your head bob up and down in joy and happiness. Though it's drinking extremely well now, this will hold for decades to come. Fabulous. — 9 years ago
A Deep Ruby Ribera del Duero from vines mostly up to 80-years old, (blended with amount of younger vine fruit), aged for 18 months in predominately French oak (20% new), aromas of complex fragrant fruit, spice and oak. On the palate ripe cherry and blackberry fruits, powerful yet elegant, with herb spice & smoky oak notes on full soft tannins. Long finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with spice and mineral earthy tones, a joy to Sip this Fine Wine. Will age, but great now! Tasting Sample! — 5 years ago

Deep Ruby, pronounced fruit aromas, pepper spice and oak. On the palate ripe blackberry and plum flavors, powerful yet elegant, with cinnamon spice & smoky notes on full, tight tannins. Long finish, lively acidity, nice mouthfeel, ending with vanilla and earthy mineral tones, a joy to Sip!! Tasting Sample. — 5 years ago
Wedged in between the monumental 2005 and 2007 this wine is more delicate but again a true Rayas. Perfect balance, strong kirsch tones and this endless perfume which comes with a sexy Rayas. Reynaud and Bonneau two opposite wines, both great, for me forget all the rest in red chateauneuf. What a joy and privilege to be allowed to drink this. — 8 years ago

Pure Sangiovese pleasure. Rich cherry flavor, delicate nose and mature tannins. A joy to drink now but a future left. — 9 years ago
