Wedged in between the monumental 2005 and 2007 this wine is more delicate but again a true Rayas. Perfect balance, strong kirsch tones and this endless perfume which comes with a sexy Rayas. Reynaud and Bonneau two opposite wines, both great, for me forget all the rest in red chateauneuf. What a joy and privilege to be allowed to drink this. — 7 years ago
Such and amazing wine. — 8 years ago
I very much dislike cabarnet franc but this wine is the exception. Yes there is a vegetal, grassy nose but this wine is complex, peppery and a true joy to drink. Plenty of good acidity, full in the mouth, long finish. Fresh — 8 years ago
Showing beautifully tonight! Well done — 8 years ago
I love Napa Cabs and I enjoy variety but you can't beat the tried and true Titans from Chateau Montelena and Joseph Phelps 🍷. This is magnificent and has years of true enjoyment ahead of this vintage. Lush fruit, soft tannins and a lingering aftertaste. A true JOY🍷🍷😊 — 9 years ago
BV grapes were first planted back in 1900, by founder Georges de Latour. A blend of mostly Cab Sauv with a bit of Petit Verdot. Outstanding! Deep Ruby with complex berry fruit aromas adding in toasty floral spice. On the palate big full flavors of blackberry, cherry and sweet plum flavors with licorice and cacao, adding some cedar notes. Soft velvet tannins, young, long finish, well integrated and nicely balanced, a joy to drink. Will Benefit from long aging. — 5 years ago
A little “funkier” than I’m used to, but still smooth and easy. Not too sweet. — 7 years ago

Located on the outskirts of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion, at the southern foot of the slope. A blend of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, a lower Merlot blend (normally 70% in Saint-Emilion) allowing more for Cab Franc, enhanced by the warm soil. Wonderful, complex a Gem! Perfect now! Subtle fruit aromas accompanied by cedar & spice. The palate shows fresh ripe berry fruits, cacao and espresso notes. Well balanced, perfect tannins, a joy to drink. Tasting Sample. — 8 years ago
1996 vintage. At Hotel TerraVina with my pal, Gerard Basset MW. Unfortunately we didn't get time to decant it sufficiently prior to having with lunch. Typically I would have had at least a 2 hour decant before serving. Medium garnet hue, very bright. The nose is simply stunning and evolved constantly in the glass. Blackberry, black plum, cedar wood, lots of spices, cocoa and hints of roasted coffee bean. Tertiary notes have developed but there still seems to be a bit of development to be teased out of this wine yet. The palate exhibited an enormous amount of structure - high acidity and high tannins that are ripe but chunky. There's nothing round here - more linear and angled than curvy. Almost light bodied but with a big two-step punch of a finish: there's an initial hit and then a powerful umph of additional rev's that makes your head bob up and down in joy and happiness. Though it's drinking extremely well now, this will hold for decades to come. Fabulous. — 8 years ago
