Fully mature with lots of rich, sappy dark fruits with good spice. Like my prior notes not overly complex but enjoyable now. — 5 years ago

Bourgogne Graviers Pinot Noir 2020

Blind tasting no4. Should have let this decant for awhile first because it was super reduced - sulfur and eggs. Honestly would NEVER have guessed burgundy or Pinot noir. Just so saturated and dense. Probably missed some of the common flavors because it was still fresh.

Slightly cloudy opaque purple with little rim variation. Heavily extracted. Bone dry, medium tannins, medium acids. Red berries and chalk with a medium to full body. As it opened we got compost and olives. Nothing to indicate Pinot though…

Fixin Pinot Noir 2015

Dark garnet- darker than usual Pinot. Nose of dark red/black fruits with some earth and leather. Very smooth in the mouth- medium but balanced tannins and some acidity at the end. Also a touch fruit forward with — 5 years ago

Vieilles Vignes Nuits St. Georges Pinot Noir 2001

Classic NSG with dark fruit, cooked meat, leather, smoke, leather. Fuller bodied than I would expect, almost recalling a Rhône wine, but with unmistakable acid profile of cotdor. Tannins filly resolves. Delicious although probably 2 yrs past true peak. — 7 years ago

Coeur de Roches Meursault Chardonnay 2019

2019 vintage. Obvs super youthful and that translates here to a large, super fresh lime component. Better than good mineral presence. The crisper side of Meursault. — 3 years ago

Les Borniques Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Classic chambolle. Elegance is the word! Complex and clean nose with red currant, cherry, roses and primordial earthiness. On the palate, seductive elegance with a silky texture and feather like mouthfeel and outstanding linearity. It slowly peels away the complexity with layers of red fruits, roses and the classic limestone undertones. Borniques is biodynamically farmed with winemaking synched with lunar cycles on a small parcel of 1.4 ha situated right above the famous ‘Les Amoureuses’ with vines planted almost on the rock. It explains the very linear structure. The tannins, acidity and alcohol were in brilliant harmony with a finish where the dance continues for well over 2 mins. I loved this and it reminded me why Chambolle-Musigny is one of my absolute favorite villages in Burgundy. — 5 years ago

Perfect meatloaf wine. In the nose, black pepper, roses and some mushrooms. In the mouth, high acidity, cracked pepper, red cherries. Medium tannins, medium-long finish. Cracking deal for 15 bucks. Yum. — 8 years ago
